Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Canterbury, Sandown, Sunshine Coast, Strathalbyn and Belmont.

CANTERBURY: RACE 4 @ 3:10 PM

HI DUBAI (3) won her maiden here earlier in her career and has been racing well this prep with a win in this company at Randwick in her penultimate start before finishing third in a stronger field as favourite there 18 days ago. She is perfectly placed back in this grade and with James McDonald in the saddle, she is the one to beat. MAWJOOD (6) won fresh up at Warwick Farm on a heavy track and then was runner-up as favourite at Rosehill nearly 6 weeks ago. He has had a quiet trial since then and drops 2kg from his last run. Hard to beat. TROIKA (4) enjoyed a firmer surface at Hawkesbury last time out and got the job done by a nose there nearly 4 weeks ago. He has been back to the Rosehill trials since then and will be ready to run another big race in this. WINGARDIUM (5) peaked on his run at Randwick just over a month ago after being run down into fourth place after leading up at Warwick Farm when resuming, He won 2 trials before that and will have no excuses this time. Go again.
SELECTIONS: Hi Dubai to win.

SANDOWN-HILLSIDE: RACE 4 @ 2:45 PM

FEDERER (4) served up an outstanding debut win at Ballarat, running on strongly to win by 3.5 lengths and looking to live up to his breeding's (Dundeel x Jameka) reputation. Off that, he'll relish 1600m here and can take this out. AGREEANCE (7) broke through for a handy maiden win at her third start when last seen at Sandown Lakeside. Has upside and can challenge. FAYETTA (9) can mix her form but did run on well to score last start and is in the mix. HEAVENLY EAGLE (5) doesn't win out of turn but was better behind a good horse last time and that form should hold up. HARTMAN (6) next best.
SELECTIONS: Federer to win.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 4 @ 2:18 PM

SPRAY GUN (1) won 3 races on the bounce before finishing third here 18 days ago when letting down strongly late. The extra 400m will be in his favour and he will notice the dip in class here. A 3kg claim makes him the one to beat in this. GLEN MASSEY (3) got in the last stride to score by a short-head here in his penultimate start and then proved that win was no fluke by scoring last time out at Doomben in weekend company. He is chasing down a hat-trick and is more than capable of completing that task. GOOGAZ (4) peaked on his run late over 1800m here last time out and won't lack fitness here on a 7-day backup. A 3kg claim will mean he carries 3.5kg less this time and is expected to bounce straight back into the money here. SHY GUY (7) did not fire as favourite at Doomben 11 days ago on a track that was heavier than he preferred. He is down in class and with James Orman returning to the saddle, he will be hard to hold out.
SELECTIONS: Spray Gun on top.

STRATHALBYN: RACE 4 @ 1:55 PM

PUISSY GALORE (9) was strong to the line fresh over a shorter trip. Peak on his run second-up but was far from disgraced against tougher opposition. Peaking now and is the one to beat. SAVSONIC (11) made a mess of a maiden last start when putting the best part of 5L to her nearest chaser. Can build off that and be very competitive. MANDINO (8) is knocking on the door, placing in all three runs back to start the campaign. In the mix. MILITARY PRESS (3) has been showing glimpses that he's going to put himself right in the finish. Keeping safe at big odds.
SELECTIONS: Puissy Galore to win.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 6 @ 4:47 PM

BONDI PLUNGE (6) brings strong Ascot form to resumption. She's placed 3/3 fresh and 2/2 this course/distance. Maps for a soft run and Chris Parnham's booking suggests she's pleasing. The one to beat. KINGS FLIRT (10) ran her best race winning a CL3 at Bunbury. That stacks up and she will run along from the inside gate. CROSS STATEMENT (1) resumes and has placed 5/6 fresh. He also runs along and his best would see him very competitive. He's trialled well here and the 3kg claim brings him into it. MIA GUSTO (5) resumed here on a heavy track beaten 2.2L. She can build on and will appreciate the longer sprint. In the mix.
SELECTIONS: Bondi Plunge will be hard to beat.
