Rosehill: Race 7; #17 Assailant 

ASSAILANT is one runner right up there in the market 3rd up here, but I feel with this set up here today he may be in for a tough run. Drawn out wide does him no favours, so he may look to push forward to overcome that position. But the race doesn't lack for speed early which could make it awkward for him, and as well as that, his better rated performances have come on dryer tracks. So if the run becomes a tough slog, he may not appreciate a deteriorating surface.

Flemington: Race 5; #10 Captain Electric 

Captain Electric is a false favourite for mine, he won in good time and in dominant fashion first-up at Mornington but that was an extremely wet track and we saw some regression when he didn't get that last time out at Caulfield. He will face a drying surface today and the map is horrendous from the low gate.

Sunshine Coast: Race 9; #12 Deep Respect 

Deserves a win this prep but I can't get him as short as the current market as he is yet to win or place after four attempts at this distance. The stable's excellent last 50 strike rate of 22% should keep his price relatively firm at jump.

HARNESS

Albion Park: Race 5; #5 Aldebaran Acrux 

Victorian mare who might just have to do mid race work to find a spot.
