He was heavily backed first-up but did too much wrong by wanting to over race in the middle stages of the race. He loomed to win but knocked up. He's been back to the trials with a gear change but racing manners still eluded him. His best form is on wet and he can be slow to begin, which could see him forced to settle back on the fence. Can't have him at the top of the market.

Randwick: Race 10; #7 Pure Alpha 

PURE ALPHA looked to have had every chance last time out when rising to this 1800m trip for the first time. While he did manage to run in for 2nd place, he is met with a different race map here and may have to give a head start to a few in form runners. If he can find improvement from last start he could be around the mark, but that feels the risk in this.

Caulfield: Race 3; #2 Jimmy The Bear 

$1.28 for Jimmy The Bear seems lunacy here. He had the perfect set-up in a slowly run 2000m last start and I thought he had still had enough on the line. They probably go barrier trial speed and he gets away with it but any tempo in the race and I believe he is a massive risk.

HARNESS

Albion Park: Race 3; #5 Our Goat 

Our Goat has laid down some big miles over the carnival when able to dictate on the front end. Stepping into FFA grade tonight and happy to take him on.
