Selections and best bets from Chris Scholtz for the rich Kembla Grange meeting on November 23 plus Trial Watch and Blackbook runners.
KEMBLA GRANGE November 23
Best Bets
RACE 4 (7) LEFT FIELD: Hawkesbury-trained mare is good value returning to her own sex after a strong return in a stronger BM78 over 1100m at Rosehill, doing her best work late to finish fifth after a slow start. Stakes placed last season, she's been to Kembla Grange twice for two placings and with improved fitness she is going to appreciate a fast run 1200m on this big track.
RACE 6 (13) BLAZING HARRY: Rising quickly in class is always a leap of faith but this promising 4YO confirmed that he is heading for better things when he easily carried 61.5kg to put away a BM64 field over 1300m at Randwick on November 5 when having his first Sydney start. Really got into his work over the last 100m and the Price/Kent partnership have him well placed to go on with it as he should relish stepping up to 1400m with a handy 5.5kg drop in weight.
RACE 8 (12) WATERFORD: If this often luckless 6YO gets the right breaks he'll go very close in this wide open million dollar event. Excellent first-up third behind Here To Shock and Gringotts (meets him 3kg better here) in a classy Alan Brown Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill before his last start in the Little Dance over 1600m at Randwick on November 5 that was a total forgive as he lost his momentum when held up at the 300m and could not recover under 62kg. With 6.5kg less and the reinstatement of blinkers he has all the elements to run to his best.

Why They Can Win….
RACE 1: (17) SUNCHYME – Fitter for her Rosehill placing when she was held up. Drawn to get every chance.
RACE 2: (12) MONTE SUPREME – Should have won at least two of his four starts this prep. Can't desert him back on his home track.
RACE 3: (4) PISANELLO - Can't fault him since resuming. Well placed to make it three straight.
RACE 5: (7) MODESTY – Tough 1800m win in this class when second up. Can only get better off that performance.
RACE 7: (14) CHICA MOJITO – Found 1400m too short when back in trip last time. Will run this right out with a handy drop in weight.
RACE 9: (3) HEDGED – Class sprinter set for this first-up off two good trials.
RACE 10: (9) STARMAN – Long time since he's had the benefit of an allowance in this class. Rates to win on best efforts.

TRIAL POINTERS
HAWKESBURY November 14: LORD OF BISCAY put in strong closing work to finish second in his 1000m heat (58.59; 33.71). He's an import with plenty of scope to improve on what he showed in his first local prep last season after he won two of his first four starts in the UK up to 1700m.
RANDWICK November 11: Classy 4YO HEDGED looks well prepared to resume after a soft win in his 740m heat (43.38; 32.85). Travelled well within himself before extending easily for a soft win by 1.5 lengths, strong confirmation that he has trained on well from his recent first-up trial.
