TRIAL POINTERS

NEWCASTLE December 12: Wyong trainer Sara Ryan's team continues to perform well at provincial trials. Her handy 5YO mare SPICY HOTPOT followed up her noted trial at Wyong on November 26 with a smart win in her 950m heat (53.61; 33.15), sprinting away in a fast closing sectional from her well performed stablemate MUCH MUCH BETTER for a soft win. She can be well placed in a suitable benchmark at the provincials.

RANDWICK December 9: The previously noted PALLATON looks well prepared for his debut after a strong heat win (51.54; 34.74) with the runner-up QUIETLY ARROGANT taking the eye with his strong work over the last 200m. Maidens to take the eye with plenty to offer in their trials included HURRY MISS.

NEWCASTLE December 4: A maiden to impress in the 1000m heats was the previously noted trial winner PROSPEROUS DRAGON (60.52; 34.64). In the 800m heats the speedy winner FORMAL (45.45; 33.40) will be well placed in a suitable provincial maiden.

CANTERBURY December 3: Maidens to impress included the 1100m heat winner PIGGYBACK (69.22; 37.21). The 902m open heat winner WONDEREACH (56.18; 35.53) did all that was required to dominate his heat.

RANDWICK November 26: A number of these runners will have aspirations of landing at the Gold Coast in January for the Magic Millions including the 2YO heat winner over 740m ALBANY ROAD (44.90; 33.87). PALLATON trialled well behind ALBANY ROAD while DAPHNES took the eye in the other 2YO heat. TEMPTED's late work was impressive.

WYONG November 26: Talented local trainer Sara Ryan won an open 845m heat with her evergreen performer MUCH MUCH BETTER to trial well.

WARWICK FARM November 19: Youngsters to take the eye with their work in their heats included CENOTAPH and SPHERE.

WARWICK FARM November 8: Maiden heat winners with good prospects include RUSSIAN SNITZEL.

ROSEHILL June 21: Provincial stable has a runner in unraced 3YO gelding PROSPEROUS DRAGON. After posting trial wins at Wyong and Gosford in April and May he came to town for another dominant exhibition, giving a big kick off the turn to win his 1030m heat by a dominant margin (63.38; 36.02). Hard to beat in a provincial maiden.
