TRIAL POINTERS
RANDWICK September 16: Regular trial ROSELYN"S STAR has regrouped since two defeats in his two heavy/soft starts in August after some excellent winter trials. Back on his game on top of the ground in to win the fastest 1050m heat (63.46; 34.32) with plenty in hand. Race fit POLYGLOT finished a good third in the fastest 740m heat (43.50; 33.19) where the form is sure to prove itself.
HAWKESBURY September 15: We've seen flashes of SUNRISE's brilliant speed in her three wins and she was explosive in her 1000m heat, clearing out to lead by 10 lengths before coasting home to score by seven in the fastest of the seven trials over the distance (59.10; 33.21). She's limited but just has to be placed right to add to her record.
ROSEHILL September 9: Notable 900m heat winners included the unraced GORGEOUS (55.65; 35.01).
WYONG September 8: G1 winner GRINGOTTS controlled the speed in the open 1200m heat (71.57; 35.51), appreciating the good track conditions to record a comfortable win. The four open heats over 1000m saw some promising trials with BEND THE KNEE taking the eye with his closing work. Smart maiden trials included the 845m heat winner PROBABILITY THEORY (51.70; 36.04) and an eye catching effort by MISS JOY.
WARWICK FARM September 4: Hard to miss the classy trial by exciting prospect BEADMAN in his first trial since his big win in the Ken Russell at the Gold Coast in May. He jumped well but James McDonald took hold and allowed him to drift back to midfield while sitting three wide before he warmed to his work out wide to finish fourth under a big hold, He looked full of class as he ran through the line. Maidens to keep an eye include MRS MAREE and MICRO MAGIC.
ROSEHILL August 28: The 900m trials that commanded attention were the efforts by GIRIJAALA and GORGEOUS. There was also plenty of merit in the quiet trials of KAKADU SUNSET.
HAWKESBURY August 25: Group horses had the use of the course proper for two trials. In Heat 2 (800m) MARHOONA made her first appearance since her Golden Slipper win in March. She took advantage of the inside running to rail through on the turn to head off the leader, working to the line under a ride (47.62; 33.03) for a win that will bring her on.
ROSEHILL January 7: Unraced youngster YOWERI was a good winner of his 900m heat (55.50; 35.29).
