RANDWICK September 26

Randwick A Grass; Good 4

12 Heats – 1 x 1200m (Open); 7 x 1045m (2 Open; 4 Maiden; 1 C1/Maiden); 4 x 745m (1 2YO; 1 Open; 2 Maiden)

Love the way the "master" of Randwick Les Bridge keeps rolling out talented young runners. The veteran trainer is always patient placing them to perform.

CABALLUS (Bjorn Baker): Impressive first trial by this classy sprinter since his win in the Ortensia Stakes at the Scone carnival in May. He's good fresh and the manner of his heat win over 745m (44.66; 33.52) points to him enjoying another successful campaign.

SWIFT LEGEND (Les Bridge): Unplaced in his first three starts last season but improvement is imminent judging by his impressive work to win his 1045m heat in good time (62.95; 34.46). A runaway leader was six lengths clear at the 200m before he went through his gears to make up the margin under a soft ride.

15 Heats – 1 x 1200m (Open); 7 x 900m (4 Open; 3 Maiden); 7 x 800m (3 Open; 4 Maiden)

Good trials by a number of runners from the Kris Lees and Nacim Dilmi stables.

Dilmi was a respected cog in the Godolphin wheel for many years and is going to make his mark in his new role as trainer for the Domeland syndicate.

CLOUDLAND (Kris Lees): His winter form was good and he's had a nice freshen for a spring campaign. Worked strongly through his 800m trial winning with plenty in reserve (49.04; 33.70).

EMERY (Nacim Dilmi): Maiden mare was an Impressive winner of her 800m heat, cruising clear of her rivals to win under restraint by 1.7 lengths. Could easily have improved on her good time (48.85; 33.84).

RUBI'S SERVE (Mark Minervini): Handy mare with good form up to 1400m has been off the scene since March. She's trialled twice and looks ready for a bold fresh showing after winning her 900m trial in fast time (53.13; 33.97).

STEP RIGHT IN (Allen Kehoe): Unraced colt by Sebring Sun was placed in one trial last season and this first-up effort confirms that he plenty of potential. Natural speed saw him lead easily, coasting to the line almost six lengths clear in the fastest 800m heat win (48.13; 33.63).

ROSEHILL September 23

Inside Grass ; Soft 5

9 Heats – 4 x 1030m (3 Open; 1 Maiden); 5 x 900m 2 Open; 3 Maiden)

Everest bound G1 winner Jimmysstar went about his business in confident style with a classy heat win.

JIMMYSSTAR (Ciaron Maher): He's getting a methodical build up to the The Everest with his soft win his 1030m heat (62.15; 34.60) a lovely fit at this stage of his prep. Had no trouble leading and while the time wasn't the quickest he did it easily and looked in top order running through the line 1.2 lengths clear.

PROVIDENCE (Chris Waller): It will be no shock to see this Wooton Basset colt improve sharply on his two recent Group starts on soft tracks. He's a great type and his work in his 1030m heat was first class, warming nicely over the last 100m under a quiet ride with no intent to figure in the finish. Watch for him to improve over more ground on a good track.

NOTED TRIALS

X Amelita; Ask Di; Flaxlands; Gallo Nero; Hayek; In Flight; Iowna Benz; Istolea Merc; Let's Fly; Pounce; Saloon Passage; Strada Varenna
