TRIAL POINTERS
WARWICK FARM October 3: AMAZING EAGLE has been off the scene for almost 12 months but this second exciting trial win ensures he is ready to perform first-up. Earned 2 stars for his Hawkesbury trial win last month and gets another high rating for this effort, cruising through his 818m heat in fast time (47.60; 33.08) for a dominant win.
NEWCASTLE September 24: Maiden mare EMERY was an Impressive winner of her 800m heat, cruising clear of her rivals to win under restraint by 1.7 lengths. Could easily have improved on her good time (48.85; 33.84). Handy mare RUBI'S SERVE has been off the scene since March. She's trialled twice and looks ready for a bold fresh showing after winning her 900m trial in fast time (53.13; 33.97).
WARWICK FARM September 18: Unraced I Am Invincible filly TAXATION was placed in her first two trials for James Cummings in January when we picked up her ability. This was her second trial for Joe Pride and she looks primed for a good debut after winning her 789m heat with authority in good time (46.51; 33.03).
HAWKESBURY September 15: Impressed by the effort of Ole Kirk filly GRAND CAROUSEL to finish second in her 1000m maiden heat (60.21; 34.37). She had only one start last season and should be an improver through her coming campaign. We know AMAZING EAGLE has the talent and off this trial he will be well fancied to perform when he returns the races. As usual he was keen to run but there was plenty in reserve as he maintained an advantage for a classy win in his 800m heat (48.23; 32.98).
WYONG September 8: G1 winner GRINGOTTS controlled the speed in the open 1200m heat (71.57; 35.51), appreciating the good track conditions to record a comfortable win. Just the second trial and first since last November for Winning Rupert gelding REAL BAKER with his ability clearly obvious as he kicked away in his 845m heat for an impressive 3.5 lengths win (49.50; 34.54). The Baker stable is adept at placing their maidens to advantage and I'm sure they will find the right race for this 3YO. Other smart maiden trials included eye catching efforts from VITTOZI and CRATHIE KIRK.
RANDWICK September 2: Loved the way quality performer SANDPAPER won his first trial since his trip to Queensland in May, jumping easily into the lead from the start of his 740m heat and travelling well within himself to hold an advantage from start to finish (44.61; 34.37). Sure sign he is in good form to resume. Maidens looking primed for a good showing included AVENUE MONTAIGNE.
WARWICK FARM April 29: David Pfieffer won a sprint heat with CALL ME SASSY (790m – 48.49; 34.20) and should have her placed to advantage when she resumes
ROSEHILL January 7: In the 900m heats TAXATION made a strong impression with a good placing.
