ROSEHILL Sunday December 7

Best Bets

RACE 5 – (9) PLAINTIFF: High priced Zoustar filly – she cost $2.2 million - ran up to her trials with an impressive debut win over this course and distance, surging home in fast sectionals to easily beat a subsequent winner. Not easy to jump from a maiden to this class but she has obvious potential and the small field will suit.

RACE 6 – (7) CREPE MYRTLE: Impressive mare found the talented Lyles too quick for her first-up over 1000m but she has since justified her short odds to post classy wins over 1100m at Gosford and Canterbury where she has shouldered big weights easily. Had no trouble running down the subsequent winner Swordplay last time at Canterbury and is perfectly placed to extend her sequence dropping 8kg off that win.

RACE 9 – (2) BELLE DETELLE: Sticking with this tough mare after her game placing over 1800m at this course last Saturday. She's been outsprinted behind stablemates in shorter races since resuming but will come into her own in this company over 2000m. The quick back up suits as she went from her maiden win over 1600m in Melbourne to win the G3 Adrian Knox over 2000m at Randwick in the space of seven days last season.

Why They Can Win….

RACE 1 - (2) TAMBELOA: Freshened with a strong trial since a G1 fourth in the Spring Champion. Suited this class.

RACE 2 - (4) FULL HAO: Fit mare well placed off her Melbourne efforts. Gets blinkers and handy weight advantage after the claim.

RACE 3 - (9) MOUNT BONA: Ready to build on her strong Scone win. Rates well with 5.5kg less.

RACE 4 - (2) DARK SIMBA: Impressive rise last prep. Rates to win after excellent first-up effort in better Melbourne company.

RACE 7 - (12) KILKENNY: Sure to be fitter after her promising first-up placing. Set to make rapid progress.

RACE 8 - (9) MICKEY'S MEDAL: Tough run when resuming. Gets map favours and likes this track.

TRIAL POINTERS

WARWICK FARM November 25: WHINCHAT has had his issues since he last raced in July with a six weeks gap since he finished second in a Warwick Farm trial on October 17. He was his old self in this 1200m heat (71.70; 34.61), working his way to the lead after 200m and from there doing it in style to cruise home by almost four lengths in a good pointer to his summer prospects.

RANDWICK November 21: The promising NINJA added to his reputation with another smart win in the fastest 1050m heat (63.05; 34.21). In the 1050m maiden trials the effort of the third placed CELLARMASTER stood out as one to follow. The previously noted CHIX was another to impress in the 1050m maiden heats. The fastest 737m trial was won by NULLABOR JANE (42.77; 32.73).

WARWICK FARM November 13: WEST OF AFRICA had plenty to offer with a hard held fourth in his open heat over 801m (47.81; 33.61). Talented mare PIPPIE BEACH also worked well winning the only poly heat over 740m (46.48; 35.30).

HAWKESBURY October 21: Keen to follow unraced filly CHIX after she made an impression improving on two previous trial placings to win her 800m in sharp time (47.14; 32.81). Easy work for her to sit outside the leader and travel within herself to hold an advantage to the line.

WARWICK FARM October 3: WHINCHAT won six of his first 12 starts but struggled through his winter campaign including an embargo from racing after he reared badly at the start of one of his races. He was on song in his first trial since July, trucking through the first 1000m of his 1207m heat (72.17; 35.32) to lead by eight lengths at the 50mm before he was eased down to 1.5 lengths on the line.
