A look at some of the standout breeze-up subjects ahead of the Inglis 2YO sale.
Buyers will be spoilt for choice at this year's Inglis Ready2Race Sale, which will be held in Sydney on Tuesday, with the nine fastest horses from the various breeze-ups all by different stallions.
Former Australian Champion Sire award winners Written Tycoon and Excel Excel, established stars Shamus Award and Starspangledbanner and some of the most exciting young stallions are represented towards the head of the time-sheet.
Below are the five fastest youngsters from the breeze-up sessions that were held at various locations in Australia and New Zealand earlier this month.
10.19secs – Tagaloa x La Magique: The fastest time was recorded by the son of the Blue Diamond winner and a daughter of Magic Albert, who breezed-up at Hawkesbury. Part of the KBL Thoroughbreds draft, the colt traces back to a European family that includes English Derby winner Dr Devious, English Oaks winners Even So and Dancing Rain plus Saxon Warrior and Continuous.
10.29secs – Exceed And Excel x Allez Bien: Prima Park had the two equal-fastest subjects from the New Zealand gallops at Taupo, the first being a son of Exceed And Excel who will go through as Lot 7. The colt is out of the O'Reilly mare Allez Bien who is a half-sister to Railway Stakes winner Inspirational Girl.
10.29secs – Shamus Award x Pirellina: 119 lots after the Exceed And Excel colt is offered, Prima Park will offer the fastest gelding from the breeze-ups, a youngster by a Cox Plate winner out of a mare closely-related to a 2000m WFA Group 1 winner. Pirellina is a daughter of Gio Ponti and the Nothin' Leica Dane mare Cinque Cento, who won a Doomben Cup at the highest level.
10.34secs – Zousain x Totally Sure: Fastest from the Wangaratta breeze-up session was a youngster in the care of renowned ready-to-run conditioner, Nolen Racing. By a son of boom stallion Zoustar, the colt is out of a Not A Single Doubt mare who is a half-sister to the speedy Tuscan Sling with more distant relations including Group performers including Written Beauty, Hi World and Loveyamadly.
10.39secs – Hanseatic x Musicmaker: Nolen Racing also had the second-slickest lot from the Wangaratta workouts, a colt whose fourth dam was former champion filly Triscay. That means modern-day performers Alizee and Astern appear on the pedigree page with Triscay's daughter La Baraka, a winner of the Group 1 The Galaxy, the dam of those Godolphin Group 1 winners.
This year's Inglis Ready2Race Sale comprises 196 lots, which will be offered from midday at the Riverside Sales Complex at Warwick Farm.
