Entries for next year's Blue Diamond Stakes closed this week with 1456 youngsters in the running for Victoria's premier two-year-old event.

Ciaron Maher (132), Chris Waller (118) and the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott combination (111) all have more than 100 nominations for the $2 million event that will be run at Caulfield on February 21.

"The Sportsbet Blue Diamond Stakes is a key destination on the juvenile racing calendar, attracting the country's most precocious young talent and emerging stars," Melbourne Racing Club Racing & Media Executive Josh Rodder said.

"Looking at our impressive list of entries at this stage, the 2026 edition is sure to be an exciting battle of emerging stars in a fast-paced, high-stakes showcase of speed, breeding, and brilliance."

I Am Invincible is the most heavily-represented sire among the entries with 77, while Snitzel has 63 and Home Affairs 62 members of his first crop.

Extreme Choice, the sire of this year's winner Devil Night, is the sire of 26 entries.

Devil Night is raced by burgeoning behemoth Yulong, which is among the ownership of 145 nominations – a staggering 10 percent of the total entries.
