Ruakākā Race 1
2 Master Brutus

Talented sprinter whose poor start cost him any chance of winning at his resuming run here on 8 June. Will benefit from that outing and will appreciate the extra 100 metres on Saturday.
Selections: 2-1-3-6

Ruakākā Race 2
6 Dua Dance

On debut, but has looked very professional at the trials, winning one by over four lengths and finishing second at her most recent one after being subject to a soft ride.
Selections: 6-1-2-3

Ruakākā Race 3
1 Shamus

Has been lumped with a big weight but will get two kilos off with in form jockey Ace Lawson-Carroll jumping on. Takes on easier opposition than that of his last start, and has never finished further back than second when third up in a campaign.
Selections: 1-6-2-4

Ruakākā Race 4
2 Charmario

Value runner of the day. Will be close to full fitness three runs into his preparation and has drawn to get a gun run with top jockey Warren Kennedy on top.
Selections: 2-5-6-1

Ruakākā Race 5
1 Loose Change

Has spent 16 starts in maiden ranks but he did put in some decent performances towards the end of his last campaign. Hits the right trip first up and meets a field lacking depth.
Selections: 1-11-10-5

Ruakākā Race 6
1 Chevron

Local who has an excellent record at this track and distance (8 starts for 2 wins and 4 placings). Son of El Roca who had a solid hit out for third fresh up here earlier this month and will love the step up to a staying trip.
Selections: 1-9-3-4

Ruakākā Race 7
8 Cintivee

Finished second behind race favourite Dan Vegas here on 8 June, but she did a lot wrong that day. The way she attacked the line to get within two lengths of Dan Vegas suggests she can turn the tables on him with a cleaner run in transit.
Selections: 8-2-1-4

Ruakākā Race 8
11 Mischief Managed

Local who attacked the line strongly to finish second at this track and distance on 8 June. The four year old mare gets back in her races, so the wide draw won't be too much of a concern for connections.
Selections: 11-4-5-2

Ruakākā Race 9
7 Arrowette

Stephen Marsh-trained mare who didn't get many favours when she was sent out as favourite at her last start. Forget she went around then. Her previous two efforts were strong. Drawn to get a soft trip and will have the services of top jockey Warren Kennedy.
Selections: 7-10-8-12
