MEETING ABANDONED

Rotorua Race 1
5 Florin

Good effort on debut over this course/distance. There looks to be speed aplenty in this race, which should see Florin get back and coming over the top of her opponents late.

Rotorua Race 2
6 So Excited

Expecting a much-improved effort from this filly now second up. Never got into the race on debut, where she was back and looking to clear heels for the majority of the long Pukekohe straight. Sam Spratt now takes the reins from gate 1, which should see So Excited ridden much more positively this time. If she could find the front, I would expect her to take all sorts of running down in the small field.

Rotorua Race 3
1 Casino Princess
**TIP OF THE DAY**

Very classy mare who put her rivals away comfortably in a good form race at Tauranga last start, with Malt Time and Wessex subsequently winning out of that race. She handles wet tracks and Michael McNab now rides. Looks very likely to make it three in a row.

Rotorua Race 4
5 Mister Roquette

Huge effort last start at Te Rapa after being caught three wide and working throughout before being nabbed just short of the line. Mister Roquette is a reliable wet tracker who now gets the services of Warren Kennedy. He's drawn to follow the speed and should have every chance to go one better here.

Rotorua Race 5
9 Saint Brigid

Eye-catching run into second behind Twain at Tauranga last start. The way she got home in the inferior going over 1200m last start suggests the step up to 1400m now looks suitable. A repeat effort would see her hard to beat in this field.

Rotorua Race 6
5 Raajoices

He tends to be backed strongly every time he lines up, yet he hasn't shown his best for some time. His two career wins both came on Heavy tracks at Rotorua, which is the conditions he will strike on Saturday. May require a heady ride from Sam Spratt from the awkward barrier, however, he does look as good as any in what is an open race.

Rotorua Race 7
4 Yolo

Massive effort last start at Trentham after walking out and being detached and chasing the field throughout. Handles the Heavy going and should only be improved by her first two runs this campaign.

Rotorua Race 8
8 Silver Javelin

Come the last race of the day, handling a very testing track and being at peak fitness will be hugely important. Silver Javelin is rock hard fit and gets through the Heavy going, furthermore, she will get in with only 52.5kg on her back after Sima Mxothwa's 4kg claim. Looks a very good 1×3 play to close out the day.
