Cambridge Synthetic Race 1
4 California Gold
Low confidence betting race and a very moderate maiden contest with not a whole lot of early speed engaged. California Gold has shown early speed in the past, and I thought he could roll forward from his wide gate (10) and look to find the front in this.
Cambridge Synthetic Race 2
2 Evana Trumpalot
Small field and a tricky race to assess. I'm expecting Ranger to cross Poster Boy early and Evana Trumpalot should therefore land outside leader from the outside gate in a moderately run race. He sprinted impressively from the front end in a slowly run race when winning last time, which should be similar circumstances to what he finds here.
Cambridge Synthetic Race 3
5 Sprezzatura
Really liked her trial on the synthetic, where she was bolting behind runners through the line without being asked for an effort. She maps to land the trail behind likely leader, Vigor Happiness. Trainer/Jockey combo have also been very successful on the Cambridge Synthetic of late to boot.
Cambridge Synthetic Race 4
10 Costae
Tip of The Day
A repeat effort of her debut 2nd at this course/distance would likely see her winning this. The outside barrier is the only slight concern I have with her, however, I'm expecting Kelly Myers to utilise the early speed she showed on debut and try settle in front or outside leader. Clearly the one they have to beat with even luck in running.
Cambridge Synthetic Race 5
7 Keegan
He was a victim of circumstances in the Richard Bright Memorial last start. After jumping well, he was carted back to near last turning and was racing keenly throughout, which saw him paddle late over the 1550m. Back to the 1300m here, with the nose band going on, I thought Keegan would run a much improved race.
Cambridge Synthetic Race 6
1 Market Place
It looks as though Market Place can either lead or sit outside leader in this small field over the 970m from his outside gate. While he was only narrowly beaten late over 1300m last start, the drop back to 970m looks suitable for him. Looks his race to lose.
Cambridge Synthetic Race 7
3 Heart Of Alladin
Very moderate R60 field to close the day out at Cambridge where I've sided with Heart Of Alladin. He is dropping back from R65 company into what looks a very winnable race for him. From the wide draw (10), it is likely he'll be back near enough to last, which I don't view as a negative with the tempo looking to be genuine enough.
