Wide open trotting race to start the day's proceedings but So Mystifying brings some strong, consistent form into this and with no real standouts to speak of should be able to land handy to the speed without convictions and be pretty hard to beat. Few that are more than capable here, but most are serial mistake makers.

6 Sheza Mermaid
Another tricky race being an amateur drivers affair but Sheza Mermaid beat a pretty tidy field last time out and with the confidence levels right up should be able to make a decent enough play for success here. Small field helps as never going to be too far off them and if able to unleash should be hard to catch.

2 Mary Magdalene
A good positive draw with a naturally positive driver makes Mary Magdalene the best bet here. Zachary Butcher won't waste any time in putting her onto the speed and whether he leads or trails it shouldn't matter because the last start second suggested more than capable of winning a maiden.

5 Vincents Girl
Fresh up from a decent spell, Nicky Chilcott couldn't have asked for a better assignment in which to kick off a new campaign for Vincents Girl. Has always had the ability to win a fair few races and all the boxes will be checked ahead of this resumption. Small field is a big assist and can deliver.

1 Beta Prepare
After taking on some quality fields in his last campaign, Beta Prepare returns here today ready to finally get a win on the board. Has always been good enough to win one, but has never quite grabbed it. A good spell and a freshen up should have allowed him extra time to develop and from the ace is the leading contender here.

3 Asteria Lavra
After putting it all together last time with a change in racing venue, Asteria Lavra might have found a happy place in Cambridge. No doubting the ability has always been there, but has often been tripped up by the Auckland way of going. Looked good last time out though and can certainly win again.

There have been plenty of chances for C U There lately and the patience is growing a little thin but was asked to race like a freight train last time out and things came unstuck. A somewhat steadier approach here might be all it takes and if able to be there turning in can certainly get a slice.

Tip of The Day
Surprising entry for the meeting given the manner in which he's won his last two Auckland races but clearly a pacer going a long way in his career and could even settle in the top three or four pacers of his age in the country. On that alone should be stepping out here and winning this without any problems.
