Te Rapa Race 1
3 Fashionista
Tip of The Day

Fashionista hasn't been overly impressive in her first two runs back this Spring, however, she has been racing at distances arguably short of her ideal trip. Now 3rd up, stepping up in trip, she looks well placed to run much closer to her best here. She won this race last year with a very similar setup to what she gets here, looks hard to beat.

Te Rapa Race 2
2 Boxmoss

2 Boxmoss showed good improvement throughout his first campaign, which culminated in him running well in the $100K Synthetic final at Awapuni. This will be his first raceday appearance on the turf, which is a slight query, however he has trialled previously on turf. Maps to get back off a strong tempo, where I think he will be hitting the line well late under Warren Kennedy.

Te Rapa Race 3
8 La Dorada

La Dorada is a 2yo daughter of Super Seth who has trialled impressively leading into her debut. She bested race rival, Romanoff, when they met at the trials, which was run over 6L faster than the trial taken out by Princess Elsa. Te Akau have a great record with their 2yo's and this one looks to have some upside moving forward.

Te Rapa Race 4
3 Candle

Candle has been hitting the line well in each of her runs this time in. Now 3rd up, stepping up to 1300m and side winkers being applied should see her run well again here. She maps to get back of midfield from the wider draw (7), off what looks to be a genuine tempo engaged in this race. If they do overdo it in front, she will be flying at them late.

Te Rapa Race 5
1 Moet Down

Moet Down was good without being great at Ellerslie first-up from a long spell. She had every chance trailing a moderate speed that day and may have just peaked late in the piece. She should be improved with that run under her belt and staying at 1200m looks ideal. There looks to be plenty of pressure in this race, therefore I'm hoping Joe Nishizuka elects to take a sit from the low draw (2) and look to come at them with one run late. Won't be jumping into the $2.30 at publish, hopefully get closer to $3 on raceday.

Te Rapa Race 6
9 Short Shorts

Short Shorts is first-up here in NZ, having performed to a reasonably high level in NSW. She has trialled well for this resuming run and will likely be put on the front end by Lynsey Satherley. She typically goes well fresh and a bold run here wouldn't surprise.

Te Rapa Race 7
4 Amazing Fluke

Amazing Fluke ran well on debut to finish 7th beaten less than 2L. He showed that day he still has a lot to learn and will have taken improvement from the raceday experience. He jumped very well from the barriers, and if he was as cleanly away 2nd up, I thought he could lead this field and give some cheek out in front.

Te Rapa Race 8
8 Livid Sky

Livid Sky has been eye-catching late in each of her two runs this time in, where she has been reeling off some scintillating sectionals. Now 3rd up from a low draw (5), Livid Sky looks like she will get a nice run midfield. The step up to the mile here will only aid her chances also. Very keen to be with her on a 1×3 each way basis around the $4.80/$2 mark at publish.
