Whanganui Race 1
3 Quintefeuille

Quintefeuille is a smart filly having her first run as a 3yo after two very good runs as a 2yo, the latter of which she won by 6L as a $1.10 favourite. Her trials ahead of her return have been excellent and she gets a nice low draw (3) to work with here. More than happy to be with her in this.

Whanganui Race 2
9 The Big Picture

The Big Picture trekked down to Riccarton during NZ Cup Week and was unfortunately late scratched at the gates. He comes back to the Central Districts and finds himself in a very winnable race for his delayed second-up assignment. He will appreciate the likely strong tempo that is engaged, where he should get a nice smother on the fence midfield in running. With even luck in running, he can give this a decent shake at each way odds.

Whanganui Race 3
18 Debit

Debit is a speedy mare who has looked very good winning each of her two starts this time in. While there looks to be plenty of speed engaged here I don't see that as an issue given her high natural cruising speed. She's drawn a nice low gate (4) and should be on the front end and giving this field plenty to chase down.

Whanganui Race 4
2 Whatsinyourwallet

Whatsinyourwallet resumed with a good effort at Otaki behind Zeshadow and Risque Ruler, with Risque Ruler winning at Ellerslie since. He'll likely get back from the wide draw (9) and look to be hitting the line late in the piece. The drop back to 1340m is a slight concern, however, he is coming into this race on the fresher side 5 weeks between runs.

Whanganui Race 5
5 Blissful Belle

Blissful Belle is a classy mare who hasn't had all favours in strong fields this time in. She's now had three runs back and should be in peak fitness for this assignment. She's drawn wide (11) again and will likely push forward under apprentice, Jim Chung. She will require luck from the draw but if she gets it she can run a race at odds.

Whanganui Race 6
2 Tshiebwe

Tshiebwe was just okay first-up at Waverley, where he got back and only plugged to the line that day. The key is the blinkers now going on second-up, which is a gear change worth noting from this stable. He may get back from the wider draw (9), however, he does have the ability to be putting this field away.

Whanganui Race 7
5 Fly My Wey

Fly My Wey won well against arguably stronger opposition at Tauranga last start. He gets into this with only 54kg on his back after Sima Mxothwa's claim and a repeat effort would see him hard to beat again here.

Whanganui Race 8
2 Mr Twinkletoes

Mr Twinkletoes was eye-catching late last start after receiving very little luck in the home straight. While he may get further back than his past few from the wider draw (8) here, he'll appreciate the lighter 56.5kg impost after Amber Riddell's claim.

Whanganui Race 9
4 Golden
Tip of The Day

Golden went extremely well in R75 company last start, finishing 2nd behind Kattegat at Ellerslie, which rated well heading into a R65 contest of this quality. She looks to really have come into her own over the staying trips and should only be further improved heading into this. Very hard to beat if she holds her form from the last start.
