After ranging up to win at the 200m mark at Ashburton last week before galloping, Gold Nugget Should be on the radar of a lot of punters here today. Generally pretty safe once away and trotting but just lost a bit of rhythm late in the piece last week and it told late. Big chance at redemption here in a wide open field though.

After some handy runs without setting the world on fire, Moonlite has been on the radar for a while now. Finds a very winnable race this week, despite having drawn the second row. If able to negate away from there and get into the running line will run home stronger than most and can win.

An impressive recent grass track trial win at Methven should have Red Wine Kisses primed and ready for a big race track resumption here. Lands a good draw in a wide open maiden field and with any luck in running can be a major player when things start to get serious.

Great stand start exponent who should be able to ping away from the stand here and put himself in the perfect position. Thrives on the grass track racing scene and while not a winner often has found a really good race to try and get the winning groove back in.

5 Illegal Alien
A run under the belt is going to do wonders for Illegal Alien's chances here today. Goes well on the grass and with a front line draw should be able to get away well and land on the speed. Good enough to lead up and beat this field and if the option is there, they're unlucky to turn it down.

Talented pacer Wotsonyamind steps out in one of the drop back efforts of the week. The Graham Court trained runner last tackled a race won by the talented Mounga. Should find this a whole lot easier even from the outside of the second row. Pace should be on which will suit and can have the final say.

Really nice chance for Martha Stuart to get herself back into the winning groove here. She's been super in her last two runs, a luckless fourth at Methven two starts back and then had to cover the world at Ashburton when only run down. Heads to a stand start here, so needs to step away well but can do that, find the front and run them off the track.

They talk about horses for courses and Motukarara is a place Razor's Edge just simply doesn't know how to run a bad race at. Big second first up from a spell and only going to be better for that just needs a bit of luck from the second row draw. Even field helps that and with a cold shot can win.

A mare in form at the moment and should relish getting back onto the grass tracks here. Has to get around them all at some point but good enough to do that late and storm home out wide. High speed and it carries onto the green tops too. Looks a great each way bet.

Not much went right on Cup Day for Oliver, but take a better line out of the second at Methven two starts back. Clearly relishes the grass tracks and finds a very wide open and even trotting race here today in which if the manners are there, should see him be a major player.

Couldn't have asked for much more out of Franco Tim first up from a good spell when third at Rangiora. Loves the grass tracks and lands a perfect barrier draw here. Should punch out, stay handy throughout and prove hard to stop here.
