Wingatui Race 1
6 Schnell

Schnell (#6) produced a debut effort at Oamaru that had plenty of merit, making good ground after blowing the start. She will appreciate the additional 200m here and Donovan Cooper's 2kg claim helps. With natural improvement and a cleaner getaway, she looks right in the mix.

Wingatui Race 2
7 Fourofus

Fourofus (#7) comes into this second-up after a bold fresh effort behind El Vaquero at Riccarton. He has the early speed to hold the front from the inside draw and benefits from Amber Riddell's 2kg claim. Expecting he will take plenty of running down.

Wingatui Race 3
1 Matakana Perkynana

TIP OF THE DAY
Matakana Perkynana (#1) put up a big effort for 2nd last start after doing a few things wrong and over-racing when the tempo slackened. From the wide gate, Donovan Cooper may look to slide forward and sit outside Timeisrunningout. From there, she should have the measure of this field.

Wingatui Race 4
2 Martell

Martell (#2) heads south to join Kelvin Tyler's stable, bringing strong Open Handicap form from the North Island. That form should hold him in good stead in this R75 lineup, and Floor Moerman's 3kg claim will assist with the 61.5kg impost. Should take plenty of beating.

Wingatui Race 5
6 Night Raider

Night Raider (#6) backs up quickly from Saturday after running a good race for 4th. Unlike many of his key rivals, he has the benefit of recent racing which could prove crucial on a testing track. Looks a solid 1×3 each way play at the price.

Wingatui Race 6
1 Bauble

Bauble (#1) didn't fire last start on testing ground at Riccarton, but his prior effort in stronger company had merit, while his run three back in this grade was excellent when winning by 14.5L. Dropping in class and in a small field, he looks set to bounce back.

Wingatui Race 7
1 David Moss

David Moss (#1) did his best work late on a testing track last start and should get suitable conditions again in the last of the day. From the wide gate, expect him to be dragged back and look to storm home late over the top.
