Pukekohe - Tuesday, 28 October

Racecourse : Pukekohe.
Racecourse : Pukekohe.

Pukekohe Race 1
5 Our Easy Street

Our Easy Street (#5) found the line strongly for 3rd at Te Aroha last start, closing off well in the final 100m. Blinkers now go on and Matt Cartwright retains the ride. From the low draw, he maps ideally just off the leaders, a key advantage if the wind picks up, and looks the horse to beat.

Pukekohe Race 2
8 Cosmic Dream

Open Race time: 8:32 pm, Today
Cosmic Dream (#8), a 3yo filly by Cosmic Force, makes her debut for the James/Wellwood team. She showed good tactical speed in her sole trial and handled Heavy ground with ease. In an even maiden, she can run boldly first-up on ability alone should she run up to the trial effort.

Pukekohe Race 3
9 Tryptic

Tryptic (#9), a 3yo filly by Ocean Park, impressed when winning her only trial earlier this month, finishing off nicely with a strong turn of foot. Craig Grylls takes the reins from a favourable draw, and she looks set to make an immediate impact on debut.

Pukekohe Race 4
3 High Emotion

TIP OF THE DAY
High Emotion (#3) was narrowly defeated on debut and that can mainly be put down to his lack of ringcraft. He'll have taken plenty from that experience and looks the likely leader from the inside gate. Expect him to be much more tractable this time, very hard to run down if he does things right.

Pukekohe Race 5
10 Mazino

Mazino (#10) produced a sound first-up effort at Taupo when fighting on gamely for 4th. She'll strip fitter and looks well suited dropping in to 54kg with Matt Cartwright aboard. With natural improvement second-up, she should prove difficult to hold out.

Pukekohe Race 6
12 Dance The Night

Dance The Night (#12) (dual acceptor) was only fair on debut at Taupo, running on from the back without threatening. Blinkers now go on and she retains George Rooke for this second-up tilt. The sting out of the ground should help, though a possibly testing Heavy track remains a query. Happy to speculate on her at the price.

Pukekohe Race 7
18 Dance The Night

Dance The Night (#18) (dual acceptor) was only fair on debut at Taupo, running on from the back without threatening. Blinkers now go on for this second-up tilt. The sting out of the ground should help, though a possibly testing Heavy track remains a query. Happy to speculate on her at the price.

Pukekohe Race 8
11 Transaction

Transaction (#11) resumes here, now in the care of Kylie Hoskin and looks well prepared following a pair of sharp trial efforts. She handles rain-affected tracks, and from a suitable draw under Sam Collett, she can run a strong race in a fresh state.

Pukekohe Race 9
6 Principled

Principled (#6) found the line impressively at Rotorua when finishing 5th, suggesting he's ready to peak third-up. Blinkers appear to have made a positive impact, and Joe Doyle retains the ride from an ideal draw. Expect him to settle midfield with cover and be finishing off well again late.
