Has a motor, but there's still a bag of tricks there for 3 Star From Heaven too. Best version would win this, without much doubt as has been good in stronger maidens. Just needs to do everything right.

9 Tyrons Strapping Lad
Talented trotter 9 Tyrons Strapping Lad looks really well placed here. Hasn't been the ideal return to the track but no doubting the ability. With manners today should be well in play here and capable of wearing any of these rivals down.

1 Blaze Craze
First start from the Steve Dolan stable, 1 Blaze Craze is likely to draw plenty of attention based off that alone. Trials have been sharp and lands a sweet barrier draw for the race debut and if able to hold up and lead should have the measure of them.

4 Hoof It Hagrid
Punters landed a plunge when 4 Hoof It Hagrid resumed in style at Oamaru and while the price is nowhere near the same here, should get the same result. Has always been a capable trotter and now with time and development on his side should go on and do a great job.

8 Jesse Owens
Unable to run down Burnham Girl last week, 8 Jesse Ownes will have taken considerable benefit from the run and should be primed to breakthrough here. Speedy customer who with a sweet trip will unleash on them late and get the job done.

9 Midnight Diamond
One of the more exciting up and coming trotting mares in the country, 9 Midnight Diamond hasn't really been tested of late. Tricky draw but should be able to get off the fence and into the running line early and from there it's just a case of when she moves to get onto the speed. Hard to beat.

Nice return to racing from 1 Rushkinoff and maps well here in a wide open field. The ace draw is a lovely bonus and if able to hold up and control things then Carter is going to make them chase around the last bend and they might not catch.

TIP OF THE DAY
Dropping back out of some strong three-year-old races of late the high speed of 11 Spirit Down Under should be well in play here. Good enough to probably do some work in this kind of field too and still be fighting out the finish. A great bet.

Too good for them at Timaru last week on the grass, 7 Blazing Knuckles will look to carry more confidence into Cup Week here in what looks another very winnable race. High speed filly who might look to have one run at them today and with any luck should steam roll down the outside.
