Riccarton Park Race 1
4 Take On

Take On (#4) had no right to run 3rd here last start after being hampered badly at the jump and losing several lengths. He draws a more favourable gate here and should be improved second-up. Expect him to settle back and look to be working through the pack again late.

Riccarton Park Race 2
6 Rosso

Rosso (#6) made a real statement first-up in NZ at Ashburton, coming from near last and doing it against the pattern of the day. There are some natural queries with the class rise and drop back in trip, but the turn of foot he showed should carry him a long way. Happy to be with him.

Riccarton Park Race 3
1 Insatiable

TIP OF THE DAY
Insatiable (#1) was very good first-up at Ashburton when finishing well in a race far stronger than this. He drops in grade and gets Opie Bosson aboard. While he carries a big weight, that shouldn't be a major concern over 1100m. Maps to get the run of the race just off a genuine tempo. Best bet.

Riccarton Park Race 4
14 Future Positive

Future Positive (#14) was only plain to the eye last start, but very few made ground from back and wide in that race. The drop back to 1200m from the chute looks okay, and the blinkers going on along with barrier one is ideal. If the breaks come her way, she can feature late at odds.

Riccarton Park Race 5
9 Platinum Pantheon

Platinum Pantheon (#9) was mightily impressive first-up at Ashburton, sprinting clear of his rivals. The wide draw is less of a concern from the chute start, and Kylie Williams should will likely look for a back to follow before blending into the race late. Hard to beat if he holds his form from the resuming win.

Riccarton Park Race 6
2 Platinum Attack

Platinum Attack (#2) resumes, last sighted finishing 6th in Listed company back in April. His two lead-up trials have been sharp, the latest of which was a strong win. Drawn to settle behind a genuine tempo under Craig Grylls from the low draw. Should get his chance to strike fresh.

Riccarton Park Race 7
3 Third Decree

Third Decree (#3) was very good late behind Spot On Time at Ashburton, coming from well back against the pattern on the day. She looks nicely placed under SW&P conditions and should get a suitable run midfield with cover. A leading chance.

Riccarton Park Race 8
7 Titicaca

Titicaca (#7) comes here on the quick backup from Sunday, where he closed strongly into 2nd. He will likely get back again from the wide draw but should be doing his best work late. The step up to 2600m will be right up his alley also. He stays all day and should go close.

Riccarton Park Race 9
17 Miss Fireball

Miss Fireball (#17) was sound for 3rd last start on a testing track at New Plymouth. Third-up now and she should appreciate a firmer surface here. Needs some luck early from the draw but has the right pilot aboard in Craig Grylls.

Riccarton Park Race 10
1 Well Written

Well Written (#1) hasn't put a foot wrong in two starts to date and could not have been more dominant at Ellerslie last time. She should land just behind the speed from the inside draw. Looks as likely as any in this to see out the mile and will be hard to beat again.

Riccarton Park Race 11
15 Lilly

Lilly (#15) was good first-up here over 1200m when never really clear until the race was already over. She should be better for the run and looks well suited stepping up to 1400m second-up. Down in the weights again and appeals as a solid each way play in the last.
