A winner at Newmarket on his stable debut back in April, More Thunder has gone from strength-to-strength this season for handler William Haggas, landing valuable handicaps at Newmarket either side of an unlucky narrow defeat in the Wokingham Stakes at Royal Ascot in June.

He took the step up to Group 2 level in his stride when running out a ready winner of the Hungerford Stakes at Newbury on his latest outing, with Haggas now keen to have a crack at Group 1 company in France next month.

Haggas, who landed the Prix de la Foret three times in succession between 2018 and 2020 thanks to One Master, told Sky Sports Racing: "He goes for the Foret. He's really well.

"The form of his Hungerford is now looking very strong, with Marvelman winning the Park Stakes easily.

"I think the Hungerford looks like a strong race to me."
