French banker of the day - 24th October 2025

Friday’s French banker of the day is a well-treated eight-year-old looking to follow-up a recent success

Chubasco

R8 - Clairefontaine - (Christophe Lotoux/Eddy Hardouin)

This Christophe Lotoux-trained veteran has largely struggled throughout the summer in handicap company but as a result he's plummeted in the weights, which appeared to do the trick when he ran out a commanding five-length winner of a Class 4 at Argentan sixteen days ago.

It was tough not to be impressed with the way that he put distance between himself and his rivals on that occasion, while the form has been given a timely boost thanks to the re-opposing Mearas Style, who finished third in that contest and has since scored subsequently.

A 4kg hike in the weights will demand more but he remains feasibly treated on his old form and with a course record of two wins from just five starts, it might not be enough to prevent the follow-up success.
