Saturday’s French banker of the day is an improving chaser at Compiegne.

Celtic Warrior – (Donatien Sourdeau De Beauregard/Clément Lefebvre)
The Grand Steeple-Chase de Compiegne looks like a high-class affair, with the first three home from the Grade 3 Prix de la Gascogne at the same track all re-opposing once more.
Donatien Sourdeau de Beauregard's rapidly progressive Celtic Warrior landed the spoils that day and it's probably fair to say he might take some beating once more.
It was hard not to be impressed with how he jumped and travelled over the 3800m trip before knuckling down well in the closing stages to see off Impressive by two and a half lengths. The latter will fancy his chances of reversing the form now stepping back up in distance, but it's plausible that the stiffer stamina test could also bring out further improvement from Celtic Warrior, who steps back up in distance in the form of his life.
There should be more to come from this thriving seven-year-old, and he gets the nod to complete the hat-trick.
