This looks to be a good bit of placings by François Nicolle in order for the unexposed Santcoko to get off the mark.
A twice-raced son of Cokoriko, Santcoko made a pleasing debut when fifth at Moulins before catching the eye to fill the same position over this course and distance last time out, keeping on strongly in the closing stages under Kevin Nabet and shaping as though the penny was dropping late on.
He was beaten less than four lengths on that occasion and left the impression there could still be plenty more to come having showed clear signs of inexperience inside the final few furlongs. The application of first-time cheekpieces could eke out more improvement and in what looks like a moderate enough contest on paper, this improving three-year-old gets the vote to come out on top for powerful connections.
