Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (6f) Special Weight A / $22,000

Fillies only in the opening maiden with three of the eleven racing for the first time, and we'll take a chance on one of them. (4) UASEN looked very competent in her trial crossing the line in 4th place in a good time (albeit with a class 1 horse up front helping them to some fast fractions. She ran through the line well and 6f can suit first-up. Of the experienced ones, (6) BEAUTYWONDERFUL has shown the most so far. She comes in following a runner-up finish over 6f on March 24th when she settled midfield and ran on. That continued an upward trajectory in her recent appearances, and she should be close again. (10) HAMPYEONG JANGMI has a 2nd place on her resume and in this limited company that's enough to put her in the numbers while (2) SEMYEONG GHOST and debut-maker (5) TIZ THE FASHION look other minor chances.

Selections   (4) Uasen (6) Beautywonderful (10) Hampyeong Jangmi (2) Semyeong Ghost
Next Best   5, 7
Fast Start   5, 6, 10, 11

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (6 1/2f) Special Weight A / $22,000

(3) NAOL INDY was a much-improved 4th at start number two over 6f on April 5th, settling midfield and running on. That was a full ten months after his inauspicious debut last summer and he should strip much fitter for the run and from a good draw, is the one to beat. (7) GALSAEK DOJEONJA has hinted at ability across six starts so far with a 3rd on his record and a last start 4th over this distance. In this small field and this company, he can be a little further forward than usual and can be in this a long way. (4) DANCING GANGJA enters off a much-improved 3rd place over 6f on April 7th when racing handy throughout. He is drawn well to attempt similar here. (9) CHROMITE and (2) P N S JU are other placing chances.

Selections   (3) Naol Indy (7) Galsaek Dojeonja (4) Dancing Gangja (9) Chromite
Next Best   2, 6
Fast Start   3, 4, 5, 7

Busan Race 1: Class 6 (6f) Special Weight A / $22,000

Two debut-makers in this field and she looks interesting. (6) YOUR TURN has been through three trials, dating back to last September and has won two of them and finished 2nd in the other, all three in quick times. This is not an intimidating field to debut among and if she brings the trial form to the races, she can win. (7) STORM GRIT is the big danger. He was very close 2nd at start number two over this distance on March 15th when coming from off the pace and almost getting there. He will be running on strong again here. The other first-timer is (9) NEW LEADER. She went through two trials, finishing behind Your Turn in the second of them. The time was quick though and a big first-up run can't be ruled out. (3) DANCING BOY and (1) DONGBU CHOEGANG are other experienced ones who may have a say.

Selections   (6) Your Turn (7) Storm Grit (9) New Leader (3) Dancing Boy
Next Best   1, 11
Fast Start   3, 5, 6, 11

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (7f) Special Weight A / $22,000

(10) ECLIPSE HONOR will be a hot favourite. He ran 2nd over this distance on debut on March 23rd, settling midfield and running on. The time wasn't quick, but nothing here has gone much quicker and with some natural improvement from his first start, he will be hard to beat. (7) EUMSEONG POWER was 5th behind Eclipse Honor on debut in that March 23rd race and has since come back out and run 4th, again at 7f. He seems on the right trajectory and third-up can be peaking fitness-wise. (8) NONSTOP YEOLCHA enters off a solid 2nd at 6 1/2f on March 23rd, settling midfield and running on. The slight step up in trip can suit. (4) TAENGGEURI and (9) MAGIC PRINCE others in the placing frame.

Selections   (10) Eclipse Honor (7) Eumseong Power (8) Nonstop Yeolcha (4) Tanggeuri
Next Best   9, 6
Fast Start   2, 5, 6, 10

Busan Race 2: Class 5 (6 1/2f) Handicap / $32,000

Fillies only here. (9) DAEJIUIYEOJEONSA is yet to win but has also never finished outside the top-four in seven starts. She loves finishing 2nd, which she has done on each of her last four outings, but she really should be stepping up here. On her latest she was a very close runner-up in a quick time over this distance and she won't need to improve much on that to win. If she does find one too quick yet again, it could be (2) TROUBLEMAKER. She is one for one at this distance but has been slow away in her two subsequent tries at this class over 7f. She draws nicely here and if she gets out of the gate even only fairly, then she can be a threat. (8) GREAT QUEEN got her maiden win over this distance on March 29th. She comes up in class today but can measure up. (11) BLACK JILJU and (10) RAID HIT among plenty of others with placing chances.

Selections   (9) Daejiuiyeojeonsa (2) Troublemaker (8) Great Queen (11) Black Jilju
Next Best   10, 3
Fast Start   4, 5, 8, 11

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (6 1/2f) Handicap / $32,000

Competitive race. We'll take a chance on (3) FOUR ACE. She is yet to win in seventeen starts but she has come close on plenty of occasions including a smart 3rd place last time out on March 17th over this distance when, as she often does, she got a long way back. CC Wong climbs aboard today and if she can be a bit closer in touch, it can be her day. (6) BEST DAERO got his maiden win at stat number three over 6 1/2f on March 30th, leading all the way. He comes up in class but is down in the weights and there could be more to come. (7) WONDERFUL SWEET got his maiden win at this distance on Christmas Day and has since run 4th in two tries at this class. He should be there or thereabouts today. (4) LEGENDSUN and (5) SEMYEONG LADY others in the hunt.

Selections   (3) Four Ace (6) Best Daero (7) Wonderful Sweet (4) Legendsun
Next Best   5, 2
Fast Start   1, 4, 5, 6

Busan Race 3: Class 5 (7f) Handicap / $32,000

(8) MONSTER DRAGON was a winner on debut over 6f in January and has since run 3rd in two tries at this class and distance, both times settling handy and running on. Expect similar tactics today and this time he can come home on top. (2) SKY GRIT was a winner two starts back at 6f before running 4th on her first try at this level at 300M on April 7th. She draws very nicely to be on pace here and can be in this a long way. (4) GRAY QUEEN was 3rd in that April 7th race having run on from midfield. The slight step up in trip can suit and she should be in the finish again. (6) BIG WILD has won a trial since his latest showing and can be given another chance. (11) DOCTOR LEO another possible placer.

Selections   (8) Monster Dragon (2) Sky Grit (4) Gray Queen (6) Big Wild
Next Best   11, 10
Fast Start   1, 2, 7, 8

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (7f) Handicap / $32,000

(4) GIANT STEP will be the hot favourite. He got his maiden win at start number two over this distance in February, before running 2nd on his first try at this class on March 30th, over the same distance. He comes up 3kg in the weights, but that's balanced by a better gate, and he is very much the one to beat here. (1) MAGIC STRONG comes in off a very narrow defeat at class and distance on March 23rd when on pace throughout. He too carries his fair share of weight today but draws nicely to be on the speed and to be in this a long way. (3) STUNNING MONEY comes up in class following a maiden win at this distance on March 31st. The win had been coming, and he has a super final furlong average time which should see him competitive at this level. (7) MYEONGJINBULLPAI and (6) EUREKA other place chances.

Selections   (4) Giant Step (1) Magic Strong (3) Stunning Money (7) Myeongjinbullpai
Next Best   6, 5
Fast Start   1, 2, 4, 7

Busan Race 4: Class 5 (7f) Handicap / $32,000

(6) GLOBAL WEEK got his maiden win over 6f in January and has since run 2nd and 4th in two starts at this class, both over 6 1/2f. His running style in those two races suggests that the increase in trip can be in his favour, and he can be the one to beat today. (9) MR.KEYMAN had a poor day at the office behind Global Week last time out, but it was only his third career start. Prior to that, he was a very comfortable winner over 6f and is worth another chance here. (2) HANEUL EUTTEUM enters off a 2nd and a 4th from his latest two, both at this class over 6 1/2f. He gets a much better draw to be on or close to the pace today, and he should be a factor. (5) CHARMING ACE and (10) YEONGGWANGUITOUCH are others to consider.

Selections   (6) Global Week (9) Mr.Keyman (2) Haneul Eutteum (5) Charming Ace
Next Best   10, 8
Fast Start   2, 4, 9, 12

Seoul Race 6: Class 5 (6 1/2f) Handicap / $32,000

(1) CLOVER PARTY is yet to win in eleven attempts but has been getting ever closer, with two runner-up finishes from his latest two, both at this class and both over 7f. He comes back in trip, draws nicely, and the 4kg apprentice claim could be what he needs to get him over the line on top. (9) ANYANG TSUNAMI is up in class having broken through at start number seven over 6 1/2f on March 23rd. She comes down in weight, CC stays aboard, and the wide gate shouldn't trouble here. (4) GEUMAK JINJU has run fairly in two tries at this class since her maiden win over 6f in February. In this company, she should be getting much closer. Surprise last start winner (5) DOWN THE ZONE, along with (3) ONE SPEAR are other minor money chances.

Selections   (1) Clover Party (9) Anyang Tsunami (4) Geumak Jinju (5) Down The Zone
Next Best   3, 7
Fast Start   2, 4, 7, 9

Busan Race 5: Class 4 (1M) Handicap / $43,000

(10) STAR CLASS will be favourite. Since returning from six months out, he has a 2nd and two 4th place finishes from three appearances, most recently in the TJK Trophy race over this distance on April 14th when racing handy throughout. He carries his fair share of weight but in this company, he can be prominent again and can win. (3) BIG MORE is up in class having won over 6 1/2f on March 29th. He has finished no worse than 4th in five starts and the step up in trip may suit. (7) COOL RUNNING is two starts into a comeback following almost seven months out. He has the fastest time among these for the distance, recorded when 2nd on March 1st and third up this preparation, he can be peaking fitness-wise. (8) MASARANGGIL and (11) PEGACORN among others in the placing frame.

Selections   (10) Star Class (3) Big More (7) Cool Running (8) Masaranggil
Next Best   11, 1
Fast Start   3, 5, 10, 11

Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (1M) Handicap / $43,000

(2) J MOTION has raced fairly for two midfield finishes since returning from five months off in mid-February. He draws a better gate today and, in this company, can have an easier run to the lead and third-up he can be peaking. The danger is (7) MADISON MOUNTAIN/ Her recent form reads pleasingly with a 4th and most recently a 2nd from her latest two, the latter at this distance on April 6th when coming from midfield. She remains nicely weighted, CC jumps on, and she can win. (4) LAST PITCH was a class 5 winner over 7f two starts back before coming up to this class and running a fair 6th of eleven over that same distance. He has got a bit far back of late, but the step up in trip may suit and he can be a danger. (8) WALGADAK and (9) CHOEGANG NICE others to consider for the minors.

Selections   (2) J Motion (7) Madison Mountain (4) Last Pitch (8) Walgadak
Next Best   9, 5
Fast Start   1, 2, 5, 6

Busan Race 6: Class Open (1 1/8M) Special Weight A / Korean Oaks (KOR G2) / $516,000

(7) ECLIPSE BERRY has won her latest three including the first jewel in the Tiara, the Luna Stakes, over a mile here a month ago, beating plenty of these in the process. She is one for one at this distance – the only one in the field to have already scored over 1 1/8M – and she is very hard to oppose. The clear second-pick is (2) GLOBAL TAEYANG. She overcame the widest gate to run 2nd in the Luna, albeit a full seven-lengths behind Eclipse Berry. She may not overturn that form but from a much better gate, she can at least get closer. (6) WONPYEONG LIST stumbled at the start of the Luna with her rider losing an iron, but she eventually rallied well. With better early luck, she may offer some appeal at a probable each-way price. (8) BAEKDUUI KKUM was the best juvenile filly of last year and ran a solid 4th in the Luna, which she can match or better here. (13) BANG BANG BANG, 3rd in the Luna is another not to be dismissed.

Selections   (7) Eclipse Berry (2) Global Taeyang (6) Wonpyeong List (8) Baekduui Kkum
Next Best   13, 3
Fast Start   1, 5, 7, 8, 14

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (6f) Handicap / $43,000

Nothing here enters in very good form so it's a case of identifying which are the most likely to bounce back. A prime candidate is (1) RAON THE FANTA, who didn't run badly when finishing midfield at class and distance on March 10th. She has a win and two places over this distance and from the inside gate and under a light weight, she may well win here. (2) DRONE KILLER similarly hasn't been as far away as the pure results suggest in his latest couple. He has trialled up well since his last start and from a nice draw can be in this. (10) DOKKAEBE was an on pace before fading to 6th but still beating a couple of today's rivals at class and distance on March 31st and with the sane apprentice taking 4kg off, that's enough to have him in the hunt here. (9) NAMSAN MUJEOK and (3) YEONGWON BIG MAN others to keep safe.

Selections   (1) Raon The Fanta (2) Drone Killer (10) Dokkaebe (9) Namsan Mujeok
Next Best   3, 5
Fast Start   1, 2, 10, 11

Busan Race 7: Class 4 (1 1/8M) Handicap / $43,000

Wide open finale on the south coast. (9) ROCK AND ROLL enters having run 2nd at this class and distance on April 21st when leading for most of the way around and only taken down by a good winner in the closing stages. He remains under a light weight, he can lead again, and has as good a chance as any of going one better. (7) FOR THE GOODTIME finished in midfield in Busan's Classic Trial in February before running 3rd on his first try at this distance on March 29th, briefly striking the front close to home. He should have come on for that experience and can be close. (10) GASOK JEIL has the fastest time among these for the distance and returned to form with a runner-up finish on April 14th. He draws the same gate and should be doing his best work late again. (6) GREAT WINNER and (2) DAEHO NURI others in the hunt.

Selections   (9) Rock And Roll (7) For The Goodtime (10) Gasok Jeil (6) Great Winner
Next Best   2, 1
Fast Start   1, 2, 6, 9

Seoul Race 9: Class 3 (7f) Handicap / $54,000

(1) COMPLETE LEVEL returned to action after eight months out on March 30th and recorded the 3rd win of his stop start career over 6f. He comes up a full 5kg in the weights today and the only time he finished outside the top two was at this distance, but he draws nicely, and his class may well see him through again. (6) HUNTER BLADE crossed the line 1st at this class and distance on April 7th but lost the race in the Stewards' room for late interference. He comes in under similar conditions and from the same gate and must be given a chance again. (11) MAGIC HOUR was 3rd in that April 7th race, continuing a pattern of getting closer in recent outings and should be close again. (10) THUNDER FLASH and (2) MY WIN, the former up in class after a last start win and the latter second up after a lengthy spell, are others who can trouble the judges.

Selections   (1) Complete Level (6) Hunter Blade (11) Magic Hour (10) Thunder Flash
Next Best   2, 7
Fast Start   1, 3, 4, 9

Seoul Race 10: Class 1 (1 1/4M) Handicap / $81,000

(11) NAOL SNIPER found himself overmatched against some of the best stayers in the country in in the G3 Herald Business over this distance on March 17th, but he won over 1 1/4M at class 2 level in January and under a light weight here, he can overcome the wide draw and bounce back. (1) ARGO SMILE was a winner at this class over 1 1/8M on April 7th, beating plenty of today's rivals in the process. He comes up 4kg in the weights and also up to this distance for the first time, but shapes as the main danger. (4) SOUL MERIT was 2ndin that April 7th race and while he to carries his fair share of weight today, he can be in the mix once more. (3) JANGSAN MONSTER and (10) MIGHTY NEW among plenty of other placing chances.

Selections   (11) Naol Sniper (1) Argo Smile (4) Soul Merit (3) Jangsan Monster
Next Best   10, 5
