Juvenile maidens. (1) DAESEUNGMA has run twice, improving to 4th in the second of them over 5f on July 13th beating a couple of today's rivals. She draws nicely to be on pace here and today can be her day. (7) TAEPYEONG LEGEND debuted in a very quick race over the minimum distance on July 6th, running on for 5th. HE should have derived benefit from the experience and is probably the main danger. (4) FOX TROT was 5th behind Daeseungma in that July 13th race. That showed improvement from her debut effort and if she continues to make progress, she can get closer again. (9) ANYANG GIPPEUM and (5) BREEDO TROPHY are others who have hinted at ability.

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (6 1/2f) Special Weight A / $22,000
(2) STUNNING SERVE has shown signs of figuring things out in his latest two with a 4th and a 3rd, most recently at this distance on July 13th when settling midfield and running on. He has the fastest time among these for the distance and today can be his day. (7) AMAZING STAR crossed the line first having led for much of the way over this distance on June 29th. It wasn't an especially quick time, and her post-race test came back above a permitted threshold (for flunixin), the latter being why she finds herself still in class 6 without a rating. Nevertheless, she is yet to finish outside of the top four and can be a danger. (1) MONEY TOUCH ran 3rd on her latest effort on July 21st, coming from off the pace. She comes up 2kg in the weights, but that's balanced somewhat by a better gate, and she can place again. (6) YEONGWON POTEN and (11) HIPPODROME others to consider.

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (6f) Special Weight A / $22,000
Fillies only in this maiden and the favourite will be (7) OKCHEON WIN STAR. That's based off her debut effort on July 13th when she settled midfield before running on for 3rd place over 5f. She should have come on for that, the additional furlong can suit, and she is the one to beat. (4) META debuted on July 13th without high expectations but ran nicely for 4th place over this distance showing on pace and beating a couple of others who return here. She too can have some natural improvement and go close here. (2) MEGA STEP was an improved 3rd at start number two back on May 19th when coming from a long way back She comes in fresh here following thirteen weeks out and can go well first-up. (9) GANDAGO and (10) SHINING CHARM others in the placing frame.

It's been a long time since (5) ELITE ROYAL's solitary win, but her recent form suggests she is ready for another. She comes in having run 2nd at this class and distance on July 20th having shown on pace throughout. She comes up 2kg in the weights, but that shouldn't be a problem and from gate five, she can get an easy run to the front and lead all the way. (8) SONE SONJABGO won back-to-back races in March and May, with the latter at this class. She didn't run on in her latest effort on June 15th but comes in fresh after two months off and can be given another chance here. (4) NAOL INDY is an on-pace runner who struggled over 1 1/16M last time out but should appreciate the step back in trip here. (2) RAON THE CLIPPER and (6) JEONGSEONG VICE are the other major placing chances.

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (7f) Handicap / $32,000
(2) KKUMUI HYANGGI remains a maiden after four attempts but showed that she can measure up at this level with a 3rd place in a quick time on what was her first attempt at 7f on July 13th. Her only disappointing effort so far was when she was slowly away but from a good gate, she can be on pace and shapes as a warm favourite. (10) GANGCHEOL JEONSA comes up in class having scored his maiden win over this distance on June 30th. In doing so he posted the fastest time of any of these for the distance and while he doesn't get much of a weight drop, he overcame an even wider gate when winning and he can be in the hunt here. (8) P N S CAR is another non-winner, but he has seven top five finishes from eleven starts. That includes his latest when 3rd at this class over 6 1/2f and he should be in the mix again. (3) PRINCE DAY and (4) CHEONGHAE JEIL others to consider for the minors.

(1) TAENG TAENG BALL has two wins, and two runner-up finishes from four starts so far and is up in class following victory when making all at this distance at class 5 level back in April. He races for the first time in sixteen weeks so there may be some doubt over his sharpness, but he is down in the weights, draws well, and has plenty of ability. (7) THE PLAYER will be the betting favourite. He overcame gate ten to win at this class and distance on June 29th, and while he comes up a full 4.5kg in the weights, the manner of that victory suggests there can be more to come, and he has run well under almost as much weight in the past. (3) BLACK SPECTER comes up rapidly in class having won his latest two, most recently in a quick time at this distance on July 13th when settling midfield and running on. He comes down in the weights, draws nicely, and can measure up. (9) TEN BAGGER and (4) RAON CITY GIRL others in the frame.

(5) TRAUM QUEEN returned from a four-month absence to beat several of these on her way to victory on July 13th, settling back from gate ten and proving too strong. She comes up 2.5kg in the weights, but it was a dominant victory in a quick time, and she will be favourite to repeat. (1) SFORZA showed on the speed in that race before ultimately finishing in 6th place. That was his racecourse debut so he should have come on for the experience and from the inside gate he can be on pace and in this for longer. (8) SEOUL CHOEGANGJA comes in having run 2nd at this class over 7f on July 14th racing handy throughout. He is a two-time winner at this distance and should be in the frame. (11) BEST DAERO and (7) YONGBI BULPAE are others with placing claims.

Open race. (11) GIANT KILLING swept home to win in a quick time at class and distance on July 7th. He comes up a full 4kg in the weights, but the wide draw should be no problem, and he can strike again. (4) MIRACLE HANGANG enters with recent form reading consistently He likes to settle midfield and run on and with Moon Se-young climbing on today, he is sure to have plenty of backers. (9) GUKDAE FIGHTER was a very good winner at this class over 6 1/2f on July 14th when on pace throughout. He comes up in class but carries a very light weight, which should see him competitive in this company. (2) CHEONGPAUI KKUM and (3) YONGBI SEOUL among others who can contend for at least the places.

Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1 1/8M) Handicap / $43,000
Two standouts here and they are not easy to split. (10) NARAOLA has won his latest two, both at 1 1/16M and most recently at this class on June 29th. He comes up a full 3kg in the weights and up to 1 1/8M for the first time but Moon Se-young remains up and he can complete his hat-trick. (9) EUNPA JOY enters off back-to-back runner-up finishes, both at this class and distance and most recently leading almost the entire way around and beating plenty of these on July 20th. That may be enough for him to start as the market favourite despite his 2.5kg weight rise. Coming in nicely at the weights is (4) SHACKLE POINT. He is a front-runner who comes up to two turns for the first time and draws very nicely with plenty of potential for more development. (5) DRAGON SQUARE and (8) GIANT M among others in the hunt.

Seoul Race 10: Class 2 (1 1/4M) Handicap / $65,000
(10) JEOMSUNI GO is a relatively lightly raced four-year-old who comes up in class after a good win over 1 1/8M at class 3 level on July 6th. She carries a very light weight here, the wide draw shouldn't be a problem, and she can win. (5) FIRE POWER was a winner at this class and distance in March before registering back-to-back 3rd place, again at this distance. He carries his fair share of weight here but can be a danger late again. (4) NEULGAEUL beat Fire Power when the pair came home2nd and 3rd in the Listed Sports Chosun Trophy at this distance in May before Fire Power returned the favour as they finished 3rd and 5th on June 29th. He too has plenty of weight to carry but can be in the mix. (9) HERO FIGHTER and (6) K N SKETCH among plenty of others with at least placing chances.
