Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (6f) Special Weight A / $33,000

Juvenile maidens here with four of the nine racing for the first time. The race also marks a first Korean race ride for former New Zealand based Kozzi Asano, and it could be winning one as he partners (4) BEOLGYOUI STAR. The colt debuted over this trip on July 27th and ran on pleasingly enough for a midfield finish in a well-run race. He should have come on for the run and is firmly in the mix here. (7) HANSEN BRACING ran a solid 4th in debut in a decent time over 5f on July 6th, coming from off the pace. With some natural improvement and a step up in trip, he is the danger. (8) SPLENDID took a while to get going on his debut at 5f a month ago. He ran through the line very well though and he too should benefit from the additional trip. Among the newcomers, (6) YONGAM KANTHAKA and (9) RAON ECLIPSE looked the best in trials.

Selections   (4) Beolgyoui Star (7) Hansen Bracing (8) Splendid (6) Yongam Kanthaka
Next Best   9, 3
Fast Start   1, 4, 5, 6

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (6f) Special Weight A / $22,000

After two trials, (4) GLOBAL HAMSEONG put in an accomplished effort on debut over 5f on July 20th, settling midfield and running on for 3rd place in a decent time. He should have benefited from that experience, the step up in trip can suit, and he is the one to beat here. (3) HANGANG FASHIONED was well fancied on debut over 5f but stumbled at the start and then weakened late on. We'll give her another chance here and with Moon Se-young getting legged up, she will have plenty of backers. (7) SOFT POWER has a 3rd place on her record and while that was in a slow race, she should be able to compete with this limited set of opposition. (5) GOOD FIGHTER and (8) WONPYEONG NURI others who may improve.

Selections   (4) Global Hamseong (3) Hangang Fashioned (7) Soft Power (5) Good Fighter
Next Best   8, 11
Fast Start   3, 8, 6, 11

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (6 1/2f) Special Weight A / $22,000

It's hard to go far past (1) MR. POWER here. He comes in off his best effort to date when 2nd over this trip on July 21st, when settling midfield and running on. From the inside gate, Moon Se-young should have plenty of options, and he won't need to improve much from last time to win here. (5) MAX TANGO was an improved 2nd at start number two over this distance on July 28th when racing handy throughout. She stopped the clock in a time quicker than any of the others here have managed and he shapes as the main danger. Harry Kasim is back from a short trip to ride at Kranji one last time and he returns on the consistent (4) CUPID MIR. He has two 3rd places and five 4th place finishes from eight starts so far and should be there or thereabouts again. The form drops off rapidly after those three. (11) YONGAM GIPPEUM and (6) AMENO are perhaps the most likely to improve.

Selections   (1) Mr. Power (5) Max Tango (4) Cupid Mir (11) Yongam Gippeum
Next Best   6, 10
Fast Start   2, 4, 5, 10

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (6 1/2f) Handicap / $32,000

Fillies only here and plenty enter with recent form reading well. (5) PHOENIX CLASS returned on July 14th for the first time since last Christmas Day and ran a strong 3rd place over 6f. She can strip fitter for that run and can be on the pace and go all the way here. (1) BELOTERO was a close 2nd in a quick race at this class and distance on July 14th, coming from off the pace. He comes up 2.5kg in the weights but can be going close again. (7) BEOLGYOWISU is racing for the first time since March. Before her layoff she was a winner at this distance and also placed at this class so while she didn't offer many clues in her trial, she can be considered first-up. (10) ARCH RUNNER and (6) CHANIGO are the other place chances.

Selections   (5) Phoenix Class (1) Belotero (7) Beolgyowisu (10) Arch Runner
Next Best   6, 9
Fast Start   5, 7, 8, 10

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1 1/16M) Handicap / $32,000

(9) MAGIC PRINCE got his maiden win two starts back before running 2nd on his first try at this class over this distance on July 17th, leading for much of the way. He only comes up 1kg in the weights, and he can go one better today. (6) CAMP DAVID was 3rd in that same race, having raced close to the pace throughout and briefly touching the front in the stretch. He was favourite that day having already won at 1 1/16M at class 6 level and he is the main danger – and very probably favourite again – here. (2) HERO QUEEN has loads of experience at this level but stepped up to this trip for the first time on July 14th and took to it well, running 3rd. She can aim to match that here. The up in class (3) LIGHT A BLUE, along with (8) DONGHAENG FIRST are among others with at least placing claims.

Selections   (9) Magic Prince (6) Camp David (2) Hero Queen (3) Light A Blue
Next Best   8, 7
Fast Start   4, 6, 7, 11

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (6 1/2f) Handicap / $43,000

Competitive race. It took (7) GEUMAK MYEONGJANG eight goes to get his maiden win, which arrived 7f on July 20th. It had been coming though with plenty of near-misses and while he comes up in class here, he is down in the weights, and can back up. (6) TAEPYEONG FIGHTER similarly has won just the once but has only missed the top five on one occasion. A very close 2nd two starts back at 6f and a solid 4th over this distance last time, he should be in the finish again here. (10) SAHARAMOND comes up in class following victory in a quick time over 6f on July 20th when handy throughout. She doesn't get much in the way of a weight drop but she has seven top four finishes from eight starts and can measure up in this company. (3) MIGHTY SSEN and (11) PINK WIND among plenty of others in the mix.

Selections   (7) Geumak Myeongjang (6) Taepyeong Fighter (10) Saharamond (3) Mighty Ssen
Next Best   11, 9
Fast Start   3, 8, 9, 11

Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (6f) Handicap / $43,000

Since winning a trial, (4) SOCKS KING has been the beaten favourite on both his starts to date but did show improvement in the second of them when 44th over 6 1/2f on July 20th. If he makes similar progress here, then the Blame colt can make it third time lucky. (2) BOREUM DALBIT won back-to-back races to get promoted to this class but hasn't raced since finishing a very close 2nd on her first try at this level last November. She looked very well when winning a July trial and if she brings that form to the races, she can be a factor first-up. Like Socks King, (9) LAKSI is an import who has started at this level. He raced a couple of times last autumn but didn't reappear until July 13th when he was a solid 2nd at this class and distance. He can strip fitter for that outing and is a sanger, probably coming form off the pace. (3) DUSON CHAMP and (5) AMAN BAROWS others in the frame.

Selections   (4) Socks King (2) Boreum Dalbit (9) Laksi (3) Duson Champ
Next Best   5, 11
Fast Start   4, 7, 8, 10

Seoul Race 8: Class 3 (1 1/8M) Handicap / $54,000

Nice little rematch here between (8) HANGANG POWER and (4) ZIGGURAT. They raced one another at this class and distance on July 28th and while Hangang Power was sent off as the favourite, he was just a bit too far back and could only manage 3rd as Ziggurat snatched the lead inside the straight and would not be caught. Both have plenty of ability but with a 3.5kg weight swing in Hangang Power's favour this time, he can overturn that result. (6) BURUI SINHWA was well beaten by Hangang Power when the latter won at class and distance in June, but he comes in here off a smart 3rd place last time out. He has the fastest time among these for the distance and at his best is a legitimate danger. (2) STORM BREAKER and hat-trick seeking (5) UNICORN HIT are others to consider.

Selections   (8) Hangang Power (4) Ziggurat (6) Burui Sinhwa (2) Storm Breaker
Next Best   5, 1
Fast Start   3, 5, 8, 10

Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1M) Handicap / $43,000

(6) MANDAERO was a fast winner over 6 1/2f two starts back and then came from off the pace to run 3rd on his first try at both this class and distance on July 6th. Expect similar tactics today and he is the one to beat. (5) AMAZING ROCK is the danger. She won back-to-back races in June and July to get rapidly promoted to this level before running a fair 5th of eleven on her first try at this class over 7f on August 4th. She tackles the mile for the first time, but she has won at 1 1/16M and under a light weight, she can challenge. (2) YONGAM MARENGO will need a line drawn through his latest when he never challenged form a wide draw over 6 1/2f. He is in a better gate this time and the step up to the mile can suit. (8) THE FAVORITE and (7) SMART TAEYANG others who can go close.

Selections   (6) Mandaero (5) Amazing Rock (2) Yongam Marengo (8) The Favorite
Next Best   7, 3
Fast Start   2, 3, 6, 7

Seoul Race 10: Class 3 (1M) Handicap / $54,000

(5) FUN CRAZY doesn't exactly win out of turn, but he enters here in good form with two 4th places and a 2nd in three attempts at this class. That runner-up was his latest and it came at this distance on July 13th when settling back and steadily improving. He comes up 2.5kg in the weights, but he can go one better. (9) SAEPARANG was a winner over 1 1/8M at class 4 level two starts back before running a close 2nd over the same distance on his first try at this class in May. He comes in fresh after sixteen-weeks off without trialling and he will be a danger coming from off the pace late on. (2) HEALING HAVEN led every step of the way to record am emphatic win over 6 1/2f on July 20th. That was her maiden score at start sixteen and she is up in class here, but she shouldn't be dismissed. (6) NICE CHEETAH and (8) SPRING KKUM others in the frame.

Selections   (5) Fun Crazy (9) Saeparang (2) Healing Haven (6) Nice Cheetah
Next Best   8, 1
Fast Start   2, 3, 6, 8

Seoul Race 11: Class 2 (6f) Handicap / $65,000

(11) VINCERO CAVALLO won a valuable trophy race in April and has since run 3rd and 2nd in two starts at this class, both at this distance and in quick times. He holds an entry into the international Korea Sprint on September 8th and a big win here may well see him take up that assignment. He should be too good for this lot. (9) RAON THE GOLD is working back towards another win and was a smart 2nd at class and distance on July 6th. In this company he should be on pace and can be in this a long way. (3) OHRA KHAN is an intriguing entry. His recent body of work has been at a mile or 1 1/8M and hasn't been without success. He is nicely weighted and drawn and will be expected to go close. (5) GEUMBITMA and (6) RAON THE JET among plenty of others in the frame.

Selections   (11) Vincero Cavallo (9) Raon The Gold (3) Ohra Khan (5) Geumbitma
Next Best   6, 7
Fast Start   4, 6, 9, 11
