Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

Maidens with four of the eleven racing for the first time. (9) CHRYSOL DONGHAE ran a solid 2nd on debut back in January, showing on pace. He hasn't appeared since, but he looked well enough when 4th in a good trial in mid-June. If he can pick up from where he left off, he will take some beating. The main danger is also returning from a layoff. (3) NAMCHON TOWN didn't do much in three outings in the second half of last year but looked more promising when trialing at the end of May. Drawn well, if that trial can translate to races, he can place. Among the debut-makers (4) LONDON MONSTER looked the best, trialing behind Chrysol Donghae. (6) TRIPLE PALMETTO and another returning one, (7) MANI NODAGI, are others in the minor money frame.

Selections (9) Chrysol Donghae (3) Namchon Town (4) London Monster (6) Triple Palmetto

Seoul Race 2: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Fillies only. (4) SUHYANG MIIN has finished no worse than 5th in her seven starts to date with her win coming over 1300M two outings back. She has since registered a 3rd and a 2nd at this class and distance, leading both times, and in this company, she can lead all the way. (2) GOLD CATCHER was a winner at start number two over 1300M on June 7th, settling back and running on. She is up in class but down in weight and drawn well, she can measure up. (10) DONKEY PLAY was a winner at this class over 1300M last time out. That was back in April so she comes in following an eleven-week break and she is up in weight, but she can go close again. (6) LUCKY DAY and (1) SHINE BOLT others to consider.

Selections (4) Suhyang Miin (2) Gold Catcher (10) Donkey Play (6) Lucky Day

Seoul Race 3: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(6) SMART TAKE got her maiden win at start three over 1200M on March 30th and has since run 3rd on both her goes at this class. She stays at a light weight, draws better, and the slight step up in trip can see her return to the winner's circle. (2) HIGH FOLLY got his win at 1400M and comes in similarly having run 3rd in both his latest two, leading in both. From a good draw, he can be on the speed again and can be in this a long way. (7) WONPYEONG GANGJA has finished 4th in both outings since returning from almost a year out in April. He's one for one at this distance and third-up this preparation, he can be peaking fitness wise. (5) ROYAL BEST and the up in class (1) GOOD FRIEND are others in the frame.

Busan Race 1: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Tricky opener on the south coast so we'll take a chance on (9) PRIME SECRET. An import who began racing at this class has only appeared twice but has shown promise with a 2nd at 1200M and 4th at a mile. Third-up he can be peaking, and the distance can suit at what will probably be an each-way price. (5) WONDER DRAGON returned from eight months out to show on pace and then weaken over this class and distance on June 13th. He has won at 1400M and should strip fitter for that run and Seo Seung-un climbing on means he may start as favourite. (4) QUEEN OF DRAGON is rarely far away and should be in the placing mix again. The returning (1) GEUMA PRECEDE along with (8) GWANGYAEUIHAMSUNG are others in the hunt.

Selections (9) Prime Secret (5) Wonder Dragon (4) Queen Of Dragon (1) Geuma Precede

Seoul Race 4: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Fillies and mares only. (4) CHOWON DOLPUNG enters off a class and distance 3rd place on June 1st when settling handy to the speed and running on, beating a couple of today's rivals in the process. That was her first try at 1400M and staying under a very light weight, she looks to be the one to beat here. (6) SMILE GOLD returns to action for the first time since last September. Of her last four outings before the layoff, she won two and ran 2nd in two and she looked well enough when winning a trial two weeks ago. She should be on pace and in this a long way. Veteran (7) SEMYEONG LADY finally comes up to this class having won at 1200M on June 7th. Her other two wins came at this trip and down in weight, she can be competitive at a big price (1) AMAZING STAR and (3) RAON THE DAESE other chances.

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(10) APDOJEOK NUMBERONE is still seeking his first win but has two 4th places, a 3rd and a 2nd from his four starts so far. Last time out he ran 3rd at 1300M, showing on pace, Franco stays on, and today can be his day. (4) FLEX TAP has been getting better with each start and enters following a 3rd place over this distance on May 30th when handy throughout. She can continue to make progress here. (5) CHEONPUNG enters off a best to date finish of 3rd on June 8th at this distance with a couple of today's rivals behind him. He comes into a better gate today and is the expected pace setter. (8) BIGBANG CLASS and (3) CARAT KING others who can improve.

Selections (10) Apdojeok Numberone (4) Flex Tap (5) Cheonpung (8) Bigbang Class

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(4) YEONGWON GIANT is a sixteen-race maiden, but his recent form reads very well with front-running 2nd and 4th places followed by a from off the pace 3rd at this class and distance on June 8th when beating three of today's rivals. He may well lead here as there isn't much early speed, and this looks his best chance of getting a win. If he does manage to find one too quick again then (8) LADY FOX is the main candidate. After a three-month layoff, she got her maiden in  May and then ran 2nd on her first try at this class over 1400M on June 22nd She makes a quick return here and the step up in trip can suit. (9) CHOEGANG HYEONMA has a 4th and a 3rd from his latest two and he can be around again. (2) BLACK SIDAE and (7) GOLDEN BALL are other place chances.

Selections (4) Yeongwon Giant (8) Lady Fox (9) Choegang Hyeonma (2) Black Sidae

Busan Race 3: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(6) NICE BUDDY ran 2nd on debut last July and then didn't run again until this June 6th. Her return was a winning one with an on-pace score over 1200M and while she is up in class, she is down in weight and should strip even fitter for that run. (8) SEOBU CAPTAIN was a winner at this class and distance on June 8th, leading for most of the way around. He is up 2.5kg in weight but can be competitive again. (11) GRAND DREAM has multiple placings at this class and while he has the challenge of the widest gate, he should be aiming to place again in this company. The form falls off precipitously after those three, with (9) STORMING MAGIC and (3) DOCTOR MATTERS perhaps the best of the rest.

Selections (6) Nice Buddy (8) Seobu Captain (11) Grand Dream (9) Storming Magic

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(8) ÉCLAIR POWER has a win and two placings from four tries at this distance, most recently when 2nd on June 7th. CC stays aboard and he can come from off the pace and win here. (4) CAMP DAVID was 3rd in that June 8th race, continuing a positive run of form that includes a class 5 win at this distance in April. He is down in weight under today's conditions and is the big danger here. (2) TINA K ran on well for 2nd over a mile at this class on June 8th and that's enough to have her in contention here. (1) TRISTAN WANGJA draws a much better gate than when weakening to be beaten by a few of these two starts back and can be on the speed again. (9) BEOLGYO GRAMMY another place chance.

Selections (8) Éclair Power (4) Camp David (2) Tina K (1) Tristan Wangja

Busan Race 4: Class 4 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(6) RAON THE MASKE has won his latest two, first at 1400M and then on his first try at this class and distance on June 15th when racing handy, he beat three of today's rivals. That brings him up 3.5kg in weight but he looks to have plenty of potential for more progress, and he can win again. (9) CHANGCHANG DAERO came home 2nd in that June 15th race, settling midfield and running on. That was an uptick in recent form, but he has good results at the mile and can be in the mix again. (11) SUCCESS MOCCA returned from six months out to run a solid 2nd at this class and distance on May 30th. He should strip fitter for that run and while he has the challenge of the widest gate, he can challenge here. (1) MAN OF THE KING and (8) GLOBAL WEEK are others in the frame.

Selections (6) Raon The Maske (9) Changchang Daero (11) Success Mocca (1) Man Of The King

Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(11) SMILING PRINCE is yet to win in seven attempts but he has three runner-up finishes, which have all arrived in his latest four. Most recently he was runner-up at this class and distance on June 8th having raced on pace and with three of today's rivals behind him. He won't need to improve much to win this. (7) EXCELLENT MATTA was a winner at class 5 level over 1400M in May and then followed up with a fair 4th place over this same distance on her first try at this class. She remains under a light weight and should be on the speed here with solid claims to be in it a long way. (9) AMAZON KING was 4th behind Smiling Prince in that June 8th race. The veteran has won twice over this trip and in this company can be aiming for the places again. (5) HANAM ELDORADO and (3) BEST CLONE other minor money hopes.

Selections (11) Smiling Prince (7) Excellent Matta (9) Amazon King (5) Hanam Eldorado
Next Best 3, 6

Busan Race 5: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(9) CHOGYEOKCHA was sent off as favourite for Busan's Classic Trial back in February but had a hard time and didn't make it to any of the Triple Crown races. He did thugh return to winning ways with a smart score over this distance on May 23rd when leading all the way and while up in class here, he can repeat. (1) POSTMAN has two wins and three runner-up finishes from eight tries over the 1800M. Most recently he was 2nd on June 8th with three of today's rivals behind him and while up in weight, he draws well to be on pace, and he can deliver again. Veteran (2) SORI TAEPUNG has outperformed expectations in his latest two and if the track is favouring front-runners as it has been the last couple of meetings, he could make for appeal at an each-way price. (7) BREEDO WIZARD and (3) AJANTA other hopes in a decent race.

Selections (9) Chogyeokcha (1) Postman (2) Sori Taepung (7) Breedo Wizard

Seoul Race 8: Class 3 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(4) HAKSAN SPEED won back-to-back races over 1200M at class 4 level in April and May before running 4th from the widest gate in his first try at this class on June 7th. He comes up in weight here but that's balanced by a much better draw, and he will be favoured to win here. (5) LALA K returned from eleven months out to run a fair 5th of eleven on May 10th at this class and distance. He should strip fitter for that effort, and we all know what he is capable of. (10) SHINE ON ME mixes his form but was a solid 2nd in that May 10th race, settling midfield and running on. He is up significantly in weight but has won under more in the past and can be a factor. (11) FRESH MAN and (6) DUSON OPEN others in the placing hunt.

Selections (4) Haksan Speed (5) Lala K (10) Shine On Me (11) Fresh Man

Busan Race 6: Class 2 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

Competitive race. (4) WINNER CLEAR still has plenty of potential and while an early test among the elite in the Busan Ilbo Sprint didn't go well, he returned to winning ways with victory at class 3 level over 1200M despite being slow away to the extent that he was ordered back to trial. He won the subsequent trial too and with a better start, he can win here too. (8) BAEKDUUI KKUM is a winner of six from thirteen and beat six of these on his way to victory at this class over 1200M on June 8th. He is up in trip and up 4kg in weight but can be a danger again. (3) BIWOL was 2nd in that June 8th race. He has been working back towards another win and the step back up to 1400M can be in his favour. (6) KING ANYDAY and (9) TAEWANG SINGI among plenty of others in the mix in a race of many chances.

Seoul Race 9: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(2) YEONGWON BIG MAN won back-to-back races at 1200M and a mile in March and May before having a hard time when tried around two turns on June 8th. He should be much happier cutting back in trip today and he is the one to beat. (4) LUCKY FRANK is one for one at this distance having scored over it at class 4 level two starts back. He then finished 3rd dropped back to 1200M for his first go at this level on May 18th. He looks nicely in here and shapes as the main danger. (7) HERO SOCKS will round out mist trifecta tickets. He enters off back-to-back 4th places at this class and distance and under a light weight can aim to better that in this company. (9) MIGHTY SWEET and (8) FAIR SKIES are better than their respective latest efforts.

Selections (2) Yeongwon Big Man (4) Lucky Frank (7) Hero Socks (9) Mighty Sweet

Seoul Race 10: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

After an ordinary debut, (7) SUPREME SOCKS has won back-to-back races at 1400M and 1700M. That brings him up in class today, but he comes down in weight and can prove too good for this small set of rivals. (8) GOLDEN DRAGON was a winner at this distance at class 4 level on June 7th. Up in class but down significantly in weight, it isn't impossible he could provide a first week winner for brand new trainer Jung Ha-back. (3) POWER VICTORY has placed three times at this distance, and she looks nicely in from a good draw with place chances. (2) WORLD PEOPLE and (6) SEOBU TEUKSONG are the other ones who can be considered, at least on a place line.

Seoul Race 11: Class 1 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 110 Millio

Class 1 but with a rating cap of 95. (10) NEULGAEUL hasn't won since scoring in a listed race last September at this distance. Two of his four subsequent starts have been in Group company though and he returned to shallower waters by beating a couple of these on his way to a fair 5th at this class and distance on May 25th. (2) GIANT STEP was one of those behind Neulgaeul in that May race when he had an off day. Going on his previous start in April when he won a valuable Trophy Exchange race over this distance, he has to be worth another chance. (1) GOOD PILSEUNG returns to racing for the first time since January and having looked well in a trial, may be worth a try on a place line. (4) NORTHERN TIME and (3) FOREVER DREAM others to look out for.
