Placed just once in 19 runs in Singapore, the daughter of All Too Hard was until yesterday unplaced in four outings in Malaysia. In her last appearance in Penang on May 31, she tailed the field and beat just one home in another Class 5B race over 1600m contested by 13 horses.

Needless to say, punters totally ignored her and she started the rank outsider yesterday.

With apprentice Bahanuddin Sharudin claiming 4kg, Forget Roamnce sprang to life in the most unexpected way. She paid a thumping RM650 for a win.

The next biggest surprise of the season came from Roger Roger in a Class 5A 1300m handicap also on this track on May 17.

Ridden by Liang Xiaochuan, the Zacinto gelding came from midfield to win drawing away, paying RM481.

Just last week, Glorious Biscuit broke the duck in his 13th start in the country when accounting for a Cosmo C field over 1300 in Ipoh, returning RM302.

The Highland Reel had won twice in eight starts in Australia. After a promising start to his local campaign, with a second placing at his third start, he lost his way.

Glorious Biscuit  promptly broke the duck when dropped to Class 5 for the first time last start.

There have been 36 winners returning three-figure dividends this season, including three other winners yesterday.

Punters were given a glimpse of what were to come when Wan Legacy took the opening event to pay RM131.

This was swiftly followed by China Pearl  who returned RM105 in the next race.

Then there was the main event of the afternoon, the Supreme A race over 1400m, when Smart Star broke his Malaysian duck to pay RM193.

Yesterday was a day to forget for punters when only one favourite, Run Buddy Run  (RM14), obliged in a card of 12.
