After just one unplaced ride, the ever popular Brazilian jockey was off the mark on Super Posh in a Class 4B – 1200m sprint on his first day back in Malaysia after an enforced break from the track to recover from injury.

Pinheiro had two minor placings from four subsequent rides but it was as if he was never away.

"First of all, I have to thank God for the faith to hold it together," said Pinheiro who had a fall during a race in Dubai.

"It's been hard the last four months but I made it. All thanks to the doctors, the physiotherapy and all the nurses back in Dubai. They did an amazing job to bring me back (to health).

"My wife, my family and the prayers from all of my friends. They helped me through.

"It's just wonderful to be back and winning a race on my first day.

"Thanks to the Selangor Turf Club, the owners and trainers for giving me some good rides. I am grateful and happy."

After crossing over from Singapore with seven wins at Kranji, Super Posh has won thrice over 1020m on the No. 2 track including back-to-back wins early this year.

The Super Easy nine-year-old was unplaced twice last month but Pinheiro managed to bring out the best from veteran galloper.

Super Posh shot to the front when the field settled down and led his rivals on a merry chase. He went to the line 2-1/4 lengths clear of the rest.
