The highly anticipated clash between Filial Dragon and Pacific Vampire here two weeks ago didn’t quite eventuate as most punters predicted when G1 Tunku Gold Cup winner Noah Khan came with a blistering run to score first up in the 1200m contest.
The rematch will occur in the 1020m Supreme A event (Race 10) where Pacific Vampire appears suited on the tighter Track Two circuit over the shorter trip. The six year old is likely to lead again and will take some catching despite the 59kg. FILIAL DRAGON lost no admirers when the winning sequence of four in a row came to an end with the six year old finishing a gallant 2nd, beaten 0.75L. Filial Dragon might have the slight advantage with a previous win on Track Two over Sunday's journey back on June 15.
BRANSOM is a progressive type whose two Malaysian wins were recorded over the track and distance during his last preparation. The Simon Dunderdale trained gelding was runner up to FILIAL DRAGON on June 15 prior to spelling and also boasts an excellent first up record of two wins from three starts.

FAITHFUL LEADER is unbeaten in three starts when produced second up and should improve on his unplaced effort in the same race won by Noah Khan here on August 3. The Perak Community Shield winner is ideally drawn and should utilize his early pace to be handy in the run. PLATINUM FORT is yet to win in five outings locally but did not disgrace when freshened last start and could provide the value for the exotics.
PLATINUM LEGACY and GALAXY BAR finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in a 1600m Class 3 here on August 3 and are both clashing again in the 1800m Supreme C contest (Race 11). GALAXY BAR will have no problem with the distance rise having won up to 2000m at Kranji and enters Sunday's race with an ideal preparation after three Malaysian runs. With two wins from three starts over 1800m, he gets his chance to break the Malaysian duck.

PLATINUM GLORY is yet to score beyond 1400m but his recent placings over the mile suggest his first try at 1800m should not be dismissed as he does possess a touch of class. PACIFIC STAR shouldn't be discounted either coming off a couple of Class 4 victories by narrow margins. The class hike may be a query but the six year old came within a neck of defeating PLATINUM GLORY in a Class 4 race back in May.
Four year old galloper LIGHTNING GAL has been a good money spinner for the Buffalo stable as she attempts back to back wins in the 1150m Class 4B contest (Race 6). Coming off her first victory in Class 4 company, the mare will once again be partnered by Bernardo Pinheiro who steered her to an impressive win over 1400m two weeks back. She does possess a quick turn of speed and strikes another winnable race this weekend.
STARLIGHT GLIMMER has taken a while to recapture his best form this preparation but his recent 2nd over 1020m suggests he may be back on track. The five year old grey is also a two time winner on the inner track and is a chance to break the nine month winning drought.
