The Richard Lines trained My Determination can give punters a good start when he contests the opening race at Selangor Turf Club on Sunday.

Downgraded back to Class 5, the seven year old only takes one or two runs to strike back at this level and was a winner over this track and trip four runs ago. TWO MILLION won successive races over 1275m by a combined 10.75 lengths in July and August and is expected to improve on recent defeats.

Infinity Spirit  could provide some value in the 1150m Class 4B (Race 4) from pole position. Despite only the one career win, his maiden victory back in June, the 5yo has placed five times in seven starts at Class 4 level, including a last start 3rd (0.5L) behind unbeaten three year old Storm To Finish . RELEASE THE SPRIRIT has been working well since his luckless first up performance here on August 24. The gelding was obliged to race three wide from the 800m following a moderate beginning but can recapture the form he displayed when posting successive wins earlier this year.

Trainer Simon Dunderdale has been enjoying perennial success with former Australian gallopers joining the stable this year, especially those which are first up in Malaysia. PANTONG is one of those which fits the bill in the 1200m Open Maiden (Race 6) with South African jockey Kayden Brewer astride. The Pendragon gelding started nine times in Australia for six minor placings and showed travelled nicely in a trial here Tuesday week ago. PRIDE OF SANTOS has shown ability in the past with his early pace being a handy asset. He looks the likely leader and has race fitness on his side while THE WARDEN attracted market support when finishing runner up over 1500m on August 31.

STORM TO FINISH

A good clash is anticipated with inform gallopers Trees Of Valinor  and STORM TO FINISH going head to head in the 1300m Class 4A contest (Race 7). TREES OF VALINOR will be first up since chalking up a winning hat trick in the Listed 3YO Selangor Mile on June 29. The now four year old possesses a quick turn of foot and enters Sunday's contest without a lead in trial. The locally unbeaten STORM TO FINISH is a progressive three year old with two impressive wins already and is capable of rising through the grades. He is a more reliable beginner and from barrier two will be hard to beat again. COOL MAN is another former Aussie debuting for the Dunderdale camp and is coming of a good trial recently.

The Dunderdale / Brewer combination proved successful in the Tabcorp Trophy last Sunday and the trend is expected to continue in the 1300m Class 4B event (Race 9). CAPETIAN lived up to his impressive trial form with a dominant 2.5 length win in a 1200 Restricted Maiden on August 17. The three year old should defy the class rise and go two from two. KIM POLO has shown potential with successive Class 5 wins and did not disgrace in this grade last start. WEALTHYNESS led throughout at big odds over 1020m here three weeks ago after gaining a run as an emergency acceptor.
