Race Summary: An interesting start to the card. AND ACTION ran well on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack in May but did not repeat on local debut. He is back on the turf and can win a race like this but has been a bitter disappointment so far. IGUGULETHU makes his local debut and it could well be a winning one. WAR SWORD is moderate but could earn some money. WINNING CAPTAIN ran some fair races in the Western Cape and has a winning chance on local debut. BELLA ATTRICE is battling to win a race but can earn some minor money. GOTCHA BUZZ is distance suited and has a place chance.

Race 2
Race Summary: A very weak race and hopefully one of the newcomers has some ability. QUEEN OF JAZZ has been a disappointment of late but can surely beat these rivals if showing her best side. FIRST WISH flopped last time out but did better before that and is not out of it. CACUA SPIRIT and ELEGANT APPEAL have scope for improvement. GLOBAL SCENE is improving and should contest the finish. Watch the betting on JUST FOR U, LADY THEIA and VERY VAR VAR.

Race 3
Race Summary: WALT WHITMAN only found one better last time out but is improving and should make a bold bid at winning the opening leg of the Pick 6. Trainer Gavin Smith has three runners carded to take him on and it is not easy to predict which is the right one. DONNY'S BOY showed promise on debut and could make vast improvement. OLIVER TWIST is an Ideal World colt who makes his debut, but Smith is known to win races like this with newcomers. WAR OF HEARTS has had two starts and is also capable of improving. KING'S SAILOR has some fair form and should contest the finish again.

Race Summary: ELLORIX ran well without winning many times in the Western Cape and was runner-up on local debut. She can go one better this time. GREEN FAME has struggled of late but could make good improvement on local debut. RAIN BIRD has improved of late and should contest the finish. STRING OF LIGHTS is unreliable but can get involved in the finish. VENETIAN MOONLIGHT is battling to win a race but can earn some money. SWEET CAKE makes her local debut and can improve.

Race 5
Race Summary: A very competitive looking race. There was very little between RUNAWAY SONG and GRAZINGINTHEGRASS when they recently met, and it could be RUNAWAY SONG who is open to more improvement so gets a narrow vote to score. There was also very little between CHERRY ANO and GRAZINGINTHEGRASS earlier this year and both have winning chances. GLOBAL ALLY is distance suited and could contest the finish. BRENDEN JAMES is better than his last run would suggest. DESTINY OF SOULS ran well on local debut but tackles much stronger this time.

Race 6
Race Summary: Hopefully this race stays on the turf. BOURNEMOUTH did not show his best last time out but has impressed in his other races this season and could return to winning ways over a distance that should suit. ZATARA MAGIC is clearly unreliable but won well a couple of runs back and deserves respect for that win. Stable companion PEACE IN OUR WORLD has had a good year and can win if at his best. PAINITE, JUAN CARLOS and HAROLD THE DUKE are all in good form but this is a tougher task. BATTLEGROUND won some staying races in Gauteng and is certainly not out of it.

Race 7
Race Summary: PASSCHENDAELE has the ability and should be well suited to this course and distance. ROSE OF BAYEUX has been running fair races against males of late and is track and trip suited. UNITED EXPRESS has won her last three races and could win again. EASY LIVING is holding form and has a place chance. GIMME'S LASSIE steps up in trip and should fight out the finish. LADY MISTICO has been disappointing of late but did win some nice races on the Polytrack and her connections will be hoping for rain and a switch to that surface.

Race 8
Race Summary: A big field handicap and a wide spread of runners might be needed for the Pick 6. GIMME'S LASSIE has been unlucky on the Polytrack of late and deserves a change of luck and another winning turn. Stable companion EL REY VIENE was consistent in KwaZulu-Natal and can score on local debut. MASKED VIGILANTE was slowly away last week and found traffic problems up the straight and was probably the unlucky loser seen this year at Fairview on the poly. He does seem at best on that surface but would not be a surprise winner. BRONZE SWORD makes his local debut after a nice win in Gauteng and deserves respect as well.
