Racecourse : Scottsville
Racecourse : Scottsville Picture: goldcircle.co.za

Race 1
Race Summary: Nice field for the card opener. Follow the betting market on first-timers closely. SAY IT LOUD is a Gimmethegreenlight filly out of a Western Winter mare and could be forward for trainer Mike de Kock. SAUDI SWEEP made a fair debut on the Highveld and should relish the extra. She looks to have a fair chance. FRENCH DUCHESS showed she preferred racing on the turf with a close-up effort against males when rallying down the favourable inside. Now she has drawn wide. AYUWI YUWI caught the eye with a strong finish second time out. FLYING REIGN STORM is capable.

Selections:
#5 Saudi Sweep, #6 Say It Loud, #8 Ayuwi Yuwi, #14 French Duchess

Race 2
Race Summary: VIHAAN'S WEB was tried in a Western Cape feature on debut and turned in an admirable effort. He has been given time off to strengthen up and rates the one to beat. There are again, however, newcomers that need to be watched. LUHAMBA PHAMBILI is well-bred and races for trainer Gareth van Zyl who has his yard in top form. GALACTUS lost his rider last time and being a son of exciting stallion One World could suddenly shine. LUCKY SPIRIT ran in a strong race last time and with CAPPELLINO could take home a prize.

Selections:
#6 Vihaan's Web, #8 Luhamba Phambili, #5 Galactus, #7 Lucky Spirit

Race 3
Race Summary: Sean Tarry's juvenile MILAN'S WORLD is a One World colt out of a Silvano mare so is bred in the purple. He is improving with each start and should see out the longer distance. LANDSEER may be a year older but he is lightly raced and still learning what it is all about. He wasn't far off over the course and distance last time. CAPTAIN MARSALA finished just ahead of him and must surely open his account soon after running a string of good races. His gate speed could see him overcome his wide draw early. ROTOTO seems capable of better. First-timer MONOCLE is well-bred.

Selections:
#4 Landseer, #7 Milan's World, #11 Captain Marsala, #2 Monocle

Race 4
Race Summary: INTUITIVE SPIRIT has only had three runs as a three-year-old but was a big improver and could exit the maidens just before turning four. MAGIC HAT TRICK finished ahead of him when the pair met and is patently better than his last run on the poly. FRENCH TRIP brings fair Western Cape form into the race and if enjoying the track he could open his account immediately. BELLA'S PABLO has finished behind FRENCH TRIP but ran an encouraging race in his first try on a right-hander and should build on that effort. FUTURE FLO has been a hard one to follow. He is always in with a say.

Selections:
#5 Intuitive Spirit, #7 French Trip, #6 Magic Hat Trick, #1 Bella's Pablo

Race 5
Race Summary: TROIS TROIS QUATRE was rewarded with an impressive win after some consistent form. He can follow up as his hike in ratings has been countered by a 4kg apprentice claim. ZAKHO is also the beneficiary of the same claim and with a light weight he could be a threat. All three of his wins have come on the poly but he has run well on the turf before. PAS DE NOM relished a try on the poly winning a courageous race from a wide gate. With his confidence boosted he could also step up on his turf form. WILLOW'S WISH is as versatile as they come and is not one to take lightly.

Selections:
#7 Trois Trois Quatre, #6 Zakho, #2 Pas De Nom, #9 Willow's Wish

Race 6
Race Summary: Some of the form runners have drawn wide and it could pay to go wide in exotics. SELUKWE impressed at this track last time and if able to overcome his draw he could follow up. Stablemate QUERARI'S DREAM has drawn better. He is lightly raced and has ability. LUCKY DOLLAR has work to do from his stall but is in top form and could enjoy the extra. His stable is in solid form. BANZAI PIPELINE is another that could be dangerous if at his best. He is racing after a rest but has drawn well. RICCARDO and Highveld-based gelding TO THE RESCUE have the potential to take it.

Selections:
#13 Selukwe, #9 Lucky Dollar, #2 Banzai Pipeline, #11 Riccardo

Race 7
Race Summary: PATANTS HEIR got the better of SHANTA'S PRIDE on the poly at Hollywoodbets Greyville but the latter has the better draw and could turn it around at the weights. PATANTS HEIR may be unexposed and needs to be respected. LA DIVINA caught the eye just behind on her poly debut. If not minding the switch back to turf she could make the required improvement. NOBLE STORM is always dangerous. She could pop up at decent odds again. CHELSEA FLOWER is holding form and could take advantage with a 4kg claim from gate one.

Selections:
#4 La Divina, #2 Shanta's Pride, #10 Patants Heir, #3 Noble Storm

Race 8
Race Summary: MOYA WA LALIGA is finally back at his favourite track and could get rewarded after running two good races in a row on the poly, but along with MAR DEL PLATA has drawn very wide. The latter is also knocking on the door and a set of blinkers could see him get his head in front. INTREPID came from far back last time and is better than that run suggests. He has drawn well and could take advantage. Watch out for trainer Garth Puller's runners. Both IMPERIAL POWER and MASTERBLING have run some decent races and having drawn well, could be in the firing line. More in it.

Selections:
#16 Moya Wa Laliga, #15 Mar Del Plata, #2 Intrepid, #1 Imperial Power

Best Win: #6 VIHAAN'S WEB
Best Value Bet: #13 SELUKWE
Best Longshot: #13 SELUKWE
