Race 1
Race Summary:
INTRO has the form needed to open her account. She only just missed in her first try over the course and distance and can make amends this time. CHEERSCHEERSCHEERS could be a big danger if taking the Polytrack. He was right up there against more experienced rivals in his penultimate before a no-show from a wide draw last time. GIMMETHEGOLD lacked a finish in his second start after a fair debut. But he has blinkers fitted and tries the Poly and needs to be watched. SKIPPER O'MALLEY has been one paced over shorter and perhaps the longer trip will suit. IRISH ANTHEM has drawn well.

Selections:

#5 Intro, #11 Cheerscheerscheers, #1 Gimmethegold, #8 Skipper O'malley

Race 2
Race Summary:
KANAAL SKATER relished this longer distance, running on well to beat seasoned veterans. He looks well placed and should go well from gate No 1. Watch out for SAFE TRAVEL who won his maiden in facile fashion on the Highveld. He has been given time off to mature but anywhere near ready could prove dangerous. RUN TO RIO is in good nick and looked a bit unlucky in his last start. He should test this field on current form. KING'S ISLAND turned in a better effort last time and has the pace to overcome his wide draw. Poly specialists such as EVENTIDOR, PARMENION and more can pop up.

Selections:

#1 Kanaal Skater, #3 Safe Travel, #6 Run To Rio, #12 King's Island

Race 3
Race Summary:
If ONE PATH takes her place after her cracking second place last week then she could be the one to beat. She has shown useful ability and should bag more wins. PROM QUEEN has been holding form on the turf but her last win was on the Polytrack and she could relish the return. She will need to get the timing right from the widest stall. GRAND OCCASION has also drawn wide but after a solid display from the front she could nevertheless run well. POURSOMESUGARONME doesn't know how to run a bad race but the longer distance could test her. More with earning potential.

Selections:

#1 One Path, #9 Prom Queen, #7 Poursomesugaronme, #8 Grand Occasion

Race 4
Race Summary:
Western Cape gelding SUN DAZED makes his local introduction and it is interesting that he jumps straight into a Polytrack race. It has been a while since he last won but he has also dropped in ratings. WINTER WAVES is not one to take lightly. He loves the track and could get there if the pace is good. GORGEOUS DUDE is one of a few that should ensure a good pace on. He must have fair claims from the best of the draws. Watch out for JOSHUA HOTSNAKE who has dropped in ratings. He could pop up having drawn well. MAC HARDY won well but has drawn widest.

Selections:

#6 Sun Dazed, #5 Winter Waves, #1 Gorgeous Dude, #3 Joshua Hotsnake

Race 5
Race Summary:
One of the more competitive races on the day. COUNT MARSH and ULTRA QUICK weren't beaten far in their respective races and could be in the fight for the win. LEXICAN POINT jumped slowly and proved difficult to settle but nevertheless ran well. He can get closer. GREENLIGHT QUEEN stayed on well over 1200m and could make more progress over the extra. She takes on males this time. TRAFALGAR SQUARE is probably better over shorter but he might be hard to catch if using his pace throughout. L'ULTIMO came in for support last time, he has been given gate No 1 again and may now reward.

Selections:

#8 Lexican Point, #6 Ultra Quick, #3 Count Marsh, #9 Greenlight Queen

Race 6
Race Summary:
SOVEREIGN GRANT has been knocking hard at the door and could finally add another win to her tally. It would be her first win on the Polytrack if she were to get there. Lightly raced JAZZ CAFE has done well on both Poly and turf. She is in good form and could make it three wins on the bounce. PERILLA is one from one over the course and distance. She is capable of a strong finish and must be taken seriously on current form. TOMYRIS has class and is bound to improve on last Poly effort which came after a rest. JEANNE DARC and LIMITLESS SKY are useful and have drawn in plum stalls.

Selections:

#5 Sovereign Grant, #4 Jazz Cafe, #7 Perilla, #1 Jeanne Darc

Race 7
Race Summary:
What A Winter gelding MVELELO relished being back over the sprint distance last time. He got the better of BANK STREET and a three point hike in merit ratings may not be enough to stop him from following up. BANK STREET was beaten as favourite but looked a bit unlucky. It could get much closer as he is holding form well. VIVA SPIRIT was only two lengths behind MVELELO and should get closer at the revised weight terms. RAINBOW REWARD got his confidence boosted over 1000m last week. Another decent effort can be expected as he has run well over this trip too.

Selections:

#2 Mvelelo, #3 Bank Street, #6 Rainbow Reward, #1 Viva Spirit

Race 8
Race Summary:
Tough race to end, go wide in the exotic bets. CAPRICIOUS MISS produced a good finish to win over 1000m. She could prefer the extra. LITTLEBLACKGEM came back to best with an eye-catching finish as well. She has only run well over 1000m to date but may just need to get the timing right. QUENTASIA is always capable of a decent performance in a race like this even if returning from a break. She has drawn well along with BLOWIN IN THE WIND who should also enjoy a drop in class. SHIMMERING has Highveld form and is making her local debut, keep an eye on her.

Selections:

#5 Capricious Miss, #4 Littleblackgem, #2 Quentasia, #1 Blowin In The Wind
