Cieren Fallon has retained the ride of Montassib in the Qipco British Champion Sprint Stakes at Ascot on Saturday. Fallon steered the six-year-old to Group 1 victory in the Sprint Cup at Haydock last time and although he predominantly rides as number two to Tom Marquand, William Haggas revealed that Cieran Fallon will retain the ride, with Tom Marquand expected to partner stablemate Unequal Love.

Checkandchallenge will reunite with Christophe Soumillon at Ascot for the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes. William Knight's runner will step up in grade after finishing a neck behind Ralph Beckett's Skellet in the Listed Fortune Stakes at Sandown.

Henry de Bromhead's Aspire Tower, who filled the runner-up spot in the 2020 Triumph Hurdle, scored for the first time in four years when making all the running in the William Hill Committed To Top Prices Hurdle at Punchestown. The Robcour-owned eight-year-old was sent off the 11/4 second favourite behind the odds-on Pied Piper, who took a heavy fall at the last when well-beaten at the time.

Connections of William Haggas' promising filly Sky Majesty have Group 1 aspirations next year after the daughter of Blue Point maintained her unbeaten record with victory in the Group 2 Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte at Chantilly. Sky Majesty stayed on nicely on testing ground to get the better of Patrice Cottier's Cheveley Park runner-up Daylight by a length and a quarter.

The George Scott-trained German Derby winner Prydwen looks set for further international targets with the Eve Lodge-based handler eyeing a trip to the Middle East for the son of Camelot. The Blue Starr Racing and Keith Breen-owned gelding has since his rating to rise to 112 following wins at Killarney and Dortmund.
