The nominations are in for the 34th annual Cartier Racing Awards, which is set to take place on the evening of Wednesday, November 20. The shortlist for the showpiece Cartier Horse of the Year award is comprised of Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe heroine Bluestocking, Champion miler Charyn, Derby winner City Of Troy, and star-stayer Kyprios.

Alongside the main event, there are seven other prizes up for grabs in the following categories: the Cartier Older Horse, the Cartier Sprinter, the Cartier Stayer, the Cartier Three-Year-Old Colt, the Cartier Three-Year-Old Filly, the Cartier Two-Year-Old Colt and the Cartier Two-Year-Old Filly.

Beyond the equine awards, the Cartier/The Daily Telegraph Award of Merit is presented to the person or persons deemed to have performed an outstanding service to the racing and breeding industries.

In terms of the voting process, the results are dictated by a triumvirate system of points earned across Pattern races, a panel of racing journalists, and a popular vote from the readership of the Racing Post and Daily Telegraph.
