Four jockeys received ten-day bans following the opening apprentice handicap at Lingfield on Tuesday. Certain Style was sent to the front by jockey Tyrese Cameron and after building up what would go on to prove an unassailable lead, Laura Morgan's charge was allowed to coast home to score by a staggering 22 lengths. Kyle McHugh, Mason Paetel, Warren Fentiman and Chloe Lyons were all found to have misjudged their rides in behind and were subsequently called into the steward's room. Speaking to Sky Sports Racing, former jockey and chief steward Fergus Sweeney explained: "We found the four jockeys guilty of failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures so therefore they all got 10 days. In layman's terms, they rode a misjudged race, and we went for the entry point as they are all inexperienced riders."

A trip to Britain looks unlikely for Grade 1 Prix la Haye Jousselin winner Gran Diose after trainer Louisa Carberry revealed a defence of his Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris crown would be next on the agenda. The eight-year-old jumped soundly under Thomas Beaurain before cruising to a commanding five-length success at Auteuil on Sunday, with market leader and King George VI Chase hope Il Est Francais pulling up on the final circuit.

Tommie Beau could dip his toe into the French cross-country scene after an eventful first outing in the sphere at Cheltenham on Friday. Seamus Mullins' nine-year-old was making his debut in cross-country racing at Cheltenham last week and things looked to be going smoothly until the well-backed 100/30 chance ran out under jockey Micheal Nolan. Although he seemingly took to the unique course at Prestbury Park just fine, connections revealed is not guaranteed to return for the Festival, with a trip to Pau in February a possible alternative.

The George Boughey-trained Believing will head to the December Mares' Sale at Tattersalls early next month. A high-class sprinter across Europe for owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, Believing suffered an unfortunate mishap when rearing and unseating Ryan Moore just moments before the gates were due to open in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint at Del Mar.

Classic winner Sparkling Plenty will go under the hammer at the Arqana Vente d'Élevage on Saturday 7 December in Deauville. The Patrice Cottier filly won the Group 1 Prix de Diane Longines at Chantilly in June before posting excellent efforts in defeat in the Qatar Nassau Stakes at Goodwood, the Qatar Prix Vermeille at Longchamp and the Prix de l'Opera on Arc weekend.
