Sam King found a 4/1 winner at Kempton last night and he’s back with two more selections for Thursday…
With three winners from his last nine rides, there is no hotter jockey in the country than George Wood at present. The Newmarket-based rider has done well when teaming up with Richard Spencer over the winter months and the pair look to have another good chance at the Nottingham venue with Midnight City in the BetUK. It's Where The UK Bets EBF Novice Stakes (11.30).
The gelded son of Acclamation showed bits and pieces of decent form on his first three outings, including when finishing a close-up seventh of twenty in the valuable Harry's Half Million By Goffs Premier Yearling Stakes at York's Ebor meeting.
He didn't look all that straightforward on his first three starts but looked much more manageable when returning after a gelding operation last month.
Richard Spencer's two-year-old was no match for an impressive winning debutant when second over course and distance last time, but he posted a solid performance on the figures and might not need to better that here in order to get off the mark.
WIN – Midnight City
Odds – 11/4
Later on the card, Billyb looks poised to get back to winning ways in the Find More Big Deals At BetUK Handicap (2.55).
The Craig Lidster team have been in excellent form of late with 80% of their horses running to form (RP) and their likeable five-year-old should be very close if replicating the form of his course and distance second five days ago.
That runner-up effort came in Class 3 company and it's no surprise to see him turn out just a week later off an unchanged mark. He contested some warm contests on the turf throughout the summer and although he's 6lb higher than when last successful at Beverley in June, the gelded son of Raven's Pass remains feasibly-treated on his best form.
WIN – Billyb
Odds - 7/4
