The team bring you placepot selections from Southwell’s Racing League meeting this evening.
R1 - Racing League Race 36 Handicap – (17:45)
The well-handicapped Say What You See must be respected from the foot of the weights. He's due to go up 4lb in the not-so-distant future for a head defeat to the unexposed Bragbor in a ten-furlong Racing League handicap at Newcastle last week and should be right in the mix with William Pyle now also taking off 3lb.
R2 - Racing League Race 37 Handicap – (18:15)
Philanthropist attracted plenty of market support prior to finish third over course and distance eleven days ago. A previous winner over track and trip, James Fanshawe's charge caught the eye with the way he travelled into contention last time out and was arguably a touch unlucky given the interference he suffered at the furlong marker. He still had every chance to go past late on if good enough, but there's no doubt it inconvenienced his winning opportunity. This gelded son of Sergei Prokofiev is now two from three on the all-weather and surely rates highly off an unchanged rating.
R3 - Racing League Race 38 Handicap – (18:45)
Havana Rum could prove well-drawn against the near side rail in stall fourteen and arrives in fine form following his commanding success in the Silver Cup at Ripon 12 days ago. Talented apprentice Ethan Tindall, who clearly gets on well with this likeable five-year-old, retains the ride and a 9lb hike in the weights might not be enough to prevent another bold bid.
R4 - Racing League Race 39 Handicap – (19:15)
Artisan Dancer looks like a solid contender to find the frame in Race 4. There's no shock to see he's top of the market on the back of a good runner-up over this trip to an unexposed type of William Haggas' at York eight days ago and he gets to run off an unchanged mark here. The Charlie Johnston team are in fine form and must have every chance of being involved.
R5 - Racing League Race 40 Handicap – (19:45)
Mysteryofthesands has been in fine form of late and looked extremely unlucky not to score at Haydock last time out. Tim Easterby's strong-travelling four-year-old, who has won three of his last six outings, could be spotted going much the best behind a wall of horses at the three-furlong. Add in the fact that he reared coming out the stalls and it's easy to upgrade that luckless effort. He's well-suited by a strongly-run seven-furlongs and ought to be in the shake up if handling this switched to the all-weather for the first time.
R6 - Racing League Race 41 Handicap – (20:15)
The progressive Crowd Quake has to be on the shortlist following his latest success at Chepstow but he's now 5lb higher and might not be able to boss this from the front. With that in mind, Fantasy Believer could be worth siding with. A pleasing third behind Crowd Quake in that Chepstow handicap, Ed Walker's charge is now 5lb better off at the weights and will be suited by the return to this track having won the same contest twelve months ago.
