Sam King is back with two selections on Sunday.
It's mainly low-grade stuff this afternoon so it looks best to side with an air of caution.
There are still two horses that catch the eye down at Brighton though, with Arvana Belle an interesting early market mover in the Class 6 two-year-old nursery.
A speedily-bred daughter of Kodi Bear, she's hinted at ability in her three qualifying outings to date without really threatening those at the business end of the contest, with the best of those efforts coming when a fair sixth in a decent Windsor novice event two starts back.
There's no doubt that this switch to handicap company needs to work the oracle, but she should be much happier at this level off a basement mark of 45.
Early market support also adds some further confidence, while it's hard to ignore the recent form of her handler Rod Millman, who is operating at an excellent 26% strike rate over the last fortnight having saddled five winners from his last nineteen runners.
1pt Win - Arvana Belle
Odds – 11/2
Later on the card, the James Fanshawe -trained Pietro looks like a solid proposition in the Class 2 six-furlong handicap.
The son of Sands Of Mali has been in good form this season, finishing fourth twice earlier in the year before a solid second at Haydock.
He got off the mark for 2025 with a decisive victory over the reopposing Tea Sea (second) and Graduated (third) at this venue in July. James Fanshawe's charge backed that up with an excellent second in a competitive handicap over seven furlongs at York and clearly continues to be at the top of his game.
Dropping back to six furlongs on this sharper track ought to play into his strengths and off just 4lb higher than when successful here two starts ago, James Fanshawe's three-year-old should have every chance of regaining the winning run.
1pt Win – Pietro
Odds – 9/4
prior to his good second at York last month and the drop in trip is unlikely to pose him many problems.
