It's something of a shame that both Doncaster's St Leger meeting and the Irish Champions Festival clash, but it what it is now, and both offer up some spectacular racing on Saturday.
Over in Leopardstown, I'm hoping that Owen Burrows and the team can be rewarded for their patience with Anmaat in this afternoon's Irish Champion Stakes (5.30).
Whilst I fully understand why Delacroix is favourite having downed the colours of Ombudsman in the Coral-Eclipse Stakes earlier in the season, there's enough in the price of Anmaat still make him the bet here.
Trained by something of a master handler in his own right in the shape of Owen Burrows, Anmaat has been plagued by the dry weather this season and as a result has only been seen on the track twice.
Despite having not had his conditions to suit this season, Anmaat has been by no means disgraced on both starts, finishing runner-up to Los Angeles in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh on his reappearance before filling the same position behind Ombudsman in Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Having swept past Calandagan to land the Champion Stakes at Ascot last season, there's no doubting Anmaat's ability to score at the top-level, and with ground conditions to suit, he's taken to deny Delacroix and reward connections' patient approach.
1pt Win - Anmaat
Odds - 7/2
Oisin Murphy enjoyed a fine day at Doncaster yesterday, guiding four winners home, and I'm hopeful that the champion jockey can strike in today's opener on Treble Tee, who retains bundles of potential in handicap company.
An impressive winner on soft ground on his debut at Newmarket as a two-year-old, Treble Tee might not have reached the heights connections were expecting since, and as a result, he's failed to get his head in front.
That said, he's looked fairly reformed since undergoing a wind and gelding operation, finishing runner-up on his handicap debut over a mile at Thirsk, before filling the same position in a warm Goodwood handicap last month.
He looked a touch unlucky not to go closer at Goodwood last time out having suffered trouble in running at a crucial stage, so it's easy enough to mark up that performance, while the return to this easier surface looks a possible catalyst for further improvement.
Simon and Ed Crisford's charge is up another 2lb for his latest effort, but compensation may await.
1pt Win - Treble Tee
Odds - 7/2
