Having progressed through the ranks in handicaps this season, Jm Jungle  finished a highly creditable third in the Listed John Smith's City Walls Stakes at York before taking his form to a new level with a battling success in the King George Qatar Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

A return to York for the Nunthorpe Stakes saw the improving son of Bungle Inthejungle finish three lengths behind Australian sprinter Asfoora in sixth last month, leaving connections keen to have another crack at Group 1 glory in Paris on the first weekend of October.

"All being well he'll run in the Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp a week on Sunday," confirmed Sean Quinn on Racing TV.

"He's very well, we missed the Flying five, we thought we'd just give him a bit of a chance, and I hope he gets a decent draw because all ground comes alike for him, but he does go with cut in the ground.

The Quinn family are no stranger to Prix de l'Abbaye success, having saddled star mare Highfield Princess to claim the prize in 2023, while El Astronaute and Liberty Beach came home with the bronze medal in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

Quinn added: "Obviously, the good filly (Highfield Princess) won the Abbaye. We had a very good filly called Liberty Beach who was beaten two short heads and El Astronaute was also third.

"The one thing they all had was early speed to get a position. That's one thing Jm Jungle has. His first 200m is good and I hope he gets a reasonable draw.

"We're looking forward to it."
