Menuisier looking forward to French return for Tamfana

David Menuisier is looking forward to seeing his star filly Tamfana back on track when she makes her return to action in the 1m2f Group 1 Prix de l'Opéra at Longchamp on Sunday.

A winner of the Group 3 Prix Miesque on her final outing as a two-year-old, Tamfana is no stranger to crossing the channel to race in France having finished third in both the 2024 Group 3 Prix Imprudence and Group 1 Prix de Diane before coming home fourth behind Sosie in the Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris later that season.

The daughter of Soldier Hollow, who is set to be offered during the Sceptre Sessions at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale, hasn't been seen finishing a disappointing seventh in the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes back in May.

However, Menuisier reported last season's Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes heroine to be in top form ahead of her belated reappearance.

"She'll run in the Opera," said Menuisier. "She's fine and in good form. She looks amazing.

"Fingers crossed she'll be fine for the race. Obviously, it's not easy having not run for such a long time but she's been giving us all the right signals.

"She ran third in the Diane over an extended 2000m and was only beaten half a length in the race, so I don't really have any doubt that she stays well.

"We'll see but she's in really good order."

Tamfana won't be the only horse to carry the colours of her owners Quantum Leap Racing across Arc weekend, with Inis Mor set to test her credentials up in class in the valuable Arqana Series - Haras de Bouquetot Criterium d'Autome Stakes at Longchamp on Saturday.

A classy winner on debut at Newmarket on the July course in August, David Menuisier's promising filly returned to the same venue later in the month to readily defy her penalty, leaving connections eyeing a trip to Paris for this competitive juvenile prize.

Menuisier said: "This has been the plan since she won her first race really,"

"She's a nice filly, how nice is she? We'll find out on Saturday really. Despite having won twice in two runs, she's unproven and this will be more of a test on Saturday.

"But she's in fine form so fingers crossed."
