Venetia Williams will be searching for back-to-back wins in the Grade 2 Sky Bet Peterborough Chase with star chaser Djelo at Huntingdon.
The improving seven-year-old accounted for Pic D'Orhy at Wetherby at the end of October to win the Grade 2 bet365 Charlie Hall Chase and will be dropping back in trip to repeat his success from twelve months ago.
"We are obviously stepping back in trip in the Peterborough Chase," said William.
"It was a very wet day last year, and we all got drenched, and I suspect the ground will be quicker this year.
"Last year I think he also benefited from the Skeltons on a split decision over which distance to run Protektorat, who ran the other day over three and a half miles, and was held up in the race. Be that as it may, he still won it well and put the race to bed fairly swiftly."
With only four rivals lining up to challenge Djelo, Williams is taking optimism from the fact the handicapper has him level on ratings with Jonbon, who takes in the Grade 1 Betfair Tingle Creek on Saturday at Sandown Park instead.
"Your first reference point when looking at these races is the handicapper's point of view, and he has got Grade Two penalties as have four of them." She added. "Assuming we don't have to take on Jonbon the handicapper has him, according to his ratings, at the head of the race so I hope he is right.
"I've always thought he was going to be a nice horse. I bought him at an online sale in France and hoped at that point we were buying a nice horse. He had won a small race which he had a battle to do in France, so he has progressed a lot from those days. That seems to be the case with so many of these French horses (that they do better over fences) that I manage to buy."
