England and Ireland Saturday

Last day of the Ebor Meeting and York and two G2s at the Curragh.

The Strensall Stakes at York is G3 over 1800m and has 9 runners with Andrew Balding's See The Fire on top on 9/4, with Oisin Murphy.  Enfjaar has many admirers and comes into this on 4/1 for Varian=Mitchell, and the Burros-Crawley Alyanaabi is on 5/1.

The City of York is G2 over 1400m with 9 runners.  Audience has been most consistent this summer wining the Lockinge and the Lennox so is on 11/10 for the Gosdens with Robert Havlin riding.  Kinross is also a very consistent type and is on 11/4 for Ralph Beckett and Rossa Ryan and Lake Forest is generally thereabouts for Haggas-Marquand.

It's a day for the babies at the Curragh  but only four little boys have turned up for the Futurity named for Wooton Bassett with one of his children, Henri Matisse, the strong favourite at 8/15.  O'Brien-Moore of course.

The girls is not that great either but at least they have 6 runners in the Debutante named for Alpha Centauri.  Both races are over 1400m and for 2yos.  Top of the girls is Frankel's daughter Bedtime Story for Aidan O'Brien who saddles the top three in the market.  Bedtime Story is on 1/8 with Ryan Moore riding and stablemates Bubbling 17/2 and Exactly on 14/1 are the next in the market.
