Well it looks like the heatwave has finished and Deauville is down to "more normal" temperatures – low 20s with a bit of rain here and there by not on Sunday where we start of the Group races for the month with the Prix de Psyche G3 for 3yo fillies over 2000m on soft going.
There's an odds-on favourite amongst the 7 starters Cankoura for Graffard-Barzalona who came third in the Diane. Then there are raiders everywhere and here we have Life is Beautiful 6/1 for the Gosdens and James Doyle but she'll be up against the favourite and the unbeaten Al Uqda 4/1.
The Prix Rothschild is the first G1 of August and raiders feature – from Ireland January on 5/2 for O'Brien-Moore and Matilda who is now in France with Graffard but used to be in Germany where she won the German 2000 Guineas (open to colts and fillies) and she's on 7/2 here and we have a bit of a roughie in raider Pino Sonata 10/1 for Fanshawe-Muscutt who was scratched from Goodwood in order to come here.
The Prix Six Perfections is G3 for 2yo fillies with the exciting Narissa on 9/4 for Graffard-Barzalona. She won her debut by 8 lengths! Green Spirit is a Kingman filly on 5/2 for Christopher Head and M Guyon and we think Royal Bay Cen by New Bay on 12/1 for Devin-Mademet could do well in this.
The Prix Cabourg is over 1200m for the 2yos with 6 running and the favourite on 10/11 Shiri for Graffard-Guyon (he's by Mehmas and has won two from two starts). We like another raider here Tadej who was good to us recently and is on 9/4 for Archie Watson and Hollie Doyle.
