This annual event is proving more popular every year.
Two teams of six riders representing Japan and The Rest of the World compete over two days at Sapporo and provided the weather obliges we should be in for two big days of racing. Forecast is for a bit of rain on Saturday but it should be fine on Sunday.
The Japanese team consists of eight jockeys with six riding in each of the races. There is one of the jockeys from the NAR circuit and the others from the two training centres of Ritto and Miho. They include Yutaka Take, Keita Tosaki (currently in York to ride Danon Decile), and Saudi Cup winning jockey Ryusei Sakai with the Yokoyama father and son duo of Norihiro and Takeshi.
The Rest of the World sees Alexis Badel and Karis Teetan representing Hong Kong, Francisco Gonsalves Argentina, Thore Hammer-Hansen Germany, Cristian Torres USA and Craig Williams Australia.
Craig is very much looking forward to returning to Japan and the WASJ which he has won and come second in already. He is no stranger to Japanese racing as had a successful time during his frequent visits.
